A shaft extends into the cavity and a valve assembly is attached to the shaft. The shaft is rotatable within the cavity between an unsealed position in which the housing channel is in fluid communication with the cavity, and a sealed position in which the valve assembly is rotationally aligned with the housing channel and obstructs fluid communication between the cavity and the housing channel.
Input device and method for operating an input device
An input device, such as a joystick, has an operating device, a magnetorheological brake device, and a controller for activating the brake device. An operating lever is disposed on a supporting structure for pivoting around at least one pivot axis. The brake device is coupled with the pivot axis for controlled damping of a pivoting motion of the operating lever. The brake device has a rotary damper with two components, namely, an inside component and an outside component. The outside component radially surrounds the inside component and a damping gap is formed in between that is filled with a magnetorheological medium. The damping gap can be exposed to a magnetic field to damp a pivoting motion between the two contrapivoting components about an axis. One of the components has radial arms equipped with an electric coil whose winding extends adjacent to and spaced apart from the axis.
Linear actuator with buffering mechanism
A linear actuator (1) with a buffering mechanism includes an actuator main body (10), a quick release mechanism (30) and a buffering member (50). The actuator main body (10) includes a housing base (11), an outer tube (14) connected to the housing base (11) and an extendable tube (15) penetrating into the outer tube (14). The quick release mechanism (30) is installed on the actuator main body (10). The buffering member (50) is arranged at one side of the outer tube (14). One end of the buffering member (50) is connected to the outer tube (14) or the housing base (11), and another end of the buffering member (50) is connected to the extendable tube (15). Accordingly, the impact force generated during the rapid retraction of the extendable tube can be reduced.
Height-Adjustable Spring Arrangement for a Vehicle
A height-adjustable spring arrangement for a vehicle includes a bearing spring, a first limiting cylinder with a first limiting cylinder pot and a first limiting piston, a second limiting cylinder with a second limiting cylinder pot and a second limiting piston, and a guide cylinder with a guide cylinder pot, a displaceable guide piston in the guide cylinder pot and a guide piston rod fixed on the guide piston and extending out of the guide cylinder pot along a longitudinal axis of a bearing spring and through the bearing spring. The guide piston rod is displaceable by the first and second limiting cylinders such that a spring preload acting on the bearing spring and a negative spring path of the bearing spring remain constant as a result of a height adjustment.
Vibration damper for vehicles, a piston rod and a method for fixing a working piston on a piston rod of a vibration damper
A vibration damper may include a damper tube filled at least partially with damping liquid. A piston rod is movable to and fro in the damper tube. A working piston is movable with the piston rod by way of which working piston an interior space of the damper tube is divided into two spaces. The vibration damper may have a wedge element and a bracing element, and the piston rod may have a wedge element recess for partially receiving the wedge element. The wedge element may be arranged in the at least one wedge element recess in a braced state, and the at least one bracing element may be connected to the working piston such that the bracing element braces the working piston with respect to the piston rod via the wedge element arranged in the element recess.
Systems for damping a solar photovoltaic array tracker
Solar tracker systems include a torque tube, a column supporting the torque tube, a solar panel attached to the torque tube, and a damper assembly. The damper assembly includes an outer shell surrounding an inner shell and defining an outer fluid channel. A piston is positioned within the inner shell and moveable relative thereto. A locking valve of the damper assembly includes a shaft extending into a chamber and a seal attached to the shaft. The shaft is selectively moveable axially within the chamber along an extension axis between an unsealed position in which the seal is spaced from a chamber wall and a flow path is defined that extends from within the inner shell, through the chamber, and to the outer fluid channel, and a sealed position in which the seal contacts the chamber wall and the locking valve obstructs the flow path.

In a shock absorber, an extension-side check valve permitting a flow of hydraulic fluid directed from a common passage to a compression-side passage side, and a compression-side orifice establishing communication between the compression-side passage and a compression-side back-pressure chamber are provided in an extension-side discharge passage. A compression-side check valve permitting a flow of hydraulic fluid directed from the common passage to an extension-side passage side, and an extension-side orifice establishing communication between the extension-side passage and an extension-side back-pressure chamber are provided in a compression-side discharge passage. A pilot valve includes a valve body slidably inserted in the common passage, and a valve spring biasing the valve body in a valve-opening direction.
