DAMPER ASSEMBLY
20220049753 · 2022-02-17 ·

A damper assembly includes a damper, an accumulator, and a tube mount. The damper includes a tube having an outer surface. The tube defines a central axis and a first cavity in the outer surface. The accumulator has an end defining a second cavity. The accumulator defines a longitudinal axis. The tube mount is attached to the outer surface of the tube around the first cavity. The tube includes a damper fluid. The end of the accumulator is supported by the tube mount to allow the damper fluid to flow from the tube through the first cavity and into the accumulator through the second cavity. The longitudinal axis of the accumulator is transverse to the central axis of the tube.

A damper includes a pressure tube extending about a longitudinal axis and defining an inner volume. The damper includes a piston attached to a piston rod and slidably disposed within the pressure tube. The piston divides the inner volume of the pressure tube into a first working chamber and a second working chamber. The damper includes a fluid connector having a first wall and a second wall, each elongated along the longitudinal axis and sealed to the pressure tube. The fluid connector has a third wall elongated along the longitudinal axis and extending from the first wall to the second wall. The pressure tube defines an opening at the first working chamber, and the third wall of the fluid connector defines an opening spaced from the opening of the pressure tube. The first wall, the second wall, and the third wall define a passage extending from the opening of the pressure tube to the opening of the third wall.

Double tube damper with structural pressure tube

The present disclosure relates to a shock absorber having a pressure tube which defines a fluid chamber, and a piston assembly. The piston assembly is disposed within the fluid chamber and divides the fluid chamber into upper and lower working chambers. A reserve tube surrounds the pressure tube to define a reservoir chamber between the reserve tube and the pressure tube. The pressure tube is disposed between a rod guide assembly and a lower mount. A structural integrity of the pressure tube is greater than a structural integrity of the reserve tube, and the pressure tube further operates as a principal load bearing component for the shock absorber.

SYSTEMS FOR DAMPING A SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC ARRAY TRACKER

Solar tracker systems include a torque tube, a column supporting the torque tube, a solar panel connected to the torque tube, and a damper assembly. The damper assembly includes a first end pivotably connected to the torque tube and a second end pivotably connected to the column. The damper assembly further includes an outer shell, a piston within and moveable relative to the outer shell, a first chamber wall and a second chamber wall within the outer shell at least partially defining a chamber, and a valve within the chamber. The valve includes a first axial end defining a slot and is biased to a first position within the chamber in which the first axial end is spaced from the first chamber wall. The valve is moveable within the chamber from the first position to a second position to passively change a flow resistance of the damper assembly.

Multiple stage air shock

The present invention is an air shock absorber having a multiple stage design. The design includes a first algorithm for determining the compressed and extended lengths of the air shock based on the lengths of the parts for each stage. The first algorithm offers the air shock an extended length that is greater than twice its compressed length, an optimized extended length, and a construction capability based on adding stages. In particular, the extended length-compressed length relationship is a quality inherently unobtainable by current shock absorbers. The design also includes a second algorithm for determining the spring rate. The second algorithm offers the capability to both set-up the air shock with a relatively linear spring rate and make the relatively linear spring rate more linear.

A diaphragm transfer device sucks and transfers a diaphragm that includes a first protrusion protruding in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the diaphragm. The diaphragm transfer device is provided with: a placing table on which the diaphragm is placed in such an orientation that the first protrusion faces downward; and a suction pad that sucks the diaphragm, placed on the placing table, from above on the outer circumferential side of the protrusion. The placing table includes an annular pedestal facing an outer-circumferential-side thick portion of the diaphragm, the thick portion being sucked by the suction pad, and a second recess recessed downward on the inner diameter side of the pedestal. The whole first protrusion of the diaphragm is located inside the second recess in a top view.

Servicing procedure for single-stage mixed fluid/gas shock strut

A method for weight off wheel shock strut servicing includes deflating the shock strut, compressing the shock strut via a jack until the shock strut is in a compressed position, charging the shock strut with an oil until a pressure of the oil reduces a volume of a residual air located inside of the shock strut, lowering the jack until a shock strut piston reaches a pre-determined extension, and charging the shock strut with a gas until the gas comprises a pre-determined pressure.

Pre-assembled piston accumulator insert device

A damper with inner and outer tubes and a piston disposed within the inner tube to define first and second working chambers. A fluid transport chamber is positioned between the inner and outer tubes. A collector chamber is positioned outside the outer tube. An intake valve assembly, abutting one end of the inner tube, is positioned inside the outer tube. An accumulator insert with an open end abutting the intake valve assembly is positioned inside the outer tube. The accumulator insert includes an accumulator sleeve, a floating piston, and a pressurized chamber. The floating piston is disposed inside the accumulator sleeve and the pressurized chamber is positioned between the floating piston and a closed end of the accumulator sleeve. Disclosed herein is a process suitable for constructing a multiple stage air shock. The multiple stage air shock is unique among shocks in that the multiple stage design possesses qualities not available to other shock absorbers. The process includes a means for determining the compressed and extended lengths of the air shock based on the lengths of the parts for each stage. This means refers to one methodology and offers the air shock an extended length that is greater than twice its compressed length, an optimized extended length, and a construction capability based on adding stages. In particular, the extended length-compressed length relationship is a quality inherently unobtainable by current shock absorbers. The process also includes a means of determining the spring rate. This means refers to a second methodology and offers the capability to both set-up the air shock with a relatively linear spring rate and make the relatively linear spring rate more linear.
