A combination vehicle tire sensor assembly and in-tire wheel balancer is adapted for residing inside a pneumatic tire mounted on a wheel rim of a motor vehicle. The combination includes a flexible mounting cable secured to the sensor assembly, and adapted for extending circumferentially within an annular space formed between the tire and wheel rim. A counterweight is secured to the mounting cable inside the pneumatic tire a spaced distance from the sensor assembly. A substantially hollow balancer belt resides inside the pneumatic tire adjacent the sensor assembly and counterweight, and defines a circumferentially-extending exterior groove designed for receiving and locating said mounting cable, and a circumferentially-extending interior cavity adapted for loosely containing a wheel-balancing medium.

In a method for cleaning a fastening surface (2) for a balancing element on an inner face (3) of a rim (4) of a vehicle wheel (5), the vehicle wheel (5) is positioned in a holding apparatus (13) such that a cleaning apparatus (9) can be moved, by means of a handling apparatus (6), to the fastening surface (2) on the inner face of the rim (4) of the positioned vehicle wheel (5). The cleaning apparatus (9) is arranged at a free end of the handling apparatus (6). The cleaning apparatus (9) is then moved by the handling apparatus (6) to a wetting device (15) filled with a cleaning agent (11) and is wetted with cleaning agent (11) in the wetting device (15). The cleaning apparatus (9) wetted with cleaning agent (11) is then moved by the handling apparatus (6) into the wheel rim (4), where it is moved such that the cleaning apparatus (9) cleans at least one fastening surface (2) on the inner face (3) of the wheel rim (4).

The present invention relates to high thermal resistance synthetic rubber and a compound for a wheel balance weight using the same. In some aspects, the high specific gravity compound for the wheel balance weight has excellent curve adhesive strength and is capable of being cut and used as needed. Provided herein is a method of forming a high thermal resistance elastic body synthetic rubber. The method includes blending acrylic rubber and fluoro rubber. A wheel balance weight having a high specific gravity elastic body can be formed by using the high thermal resistance synthetic rubber described herein as a base polymer and a metal powder.

Balancing weight composition with excellent extrudability

A balancing weight composition with excellent extrudability is provided. More specifically, the balancing weight composition includes a stainless steel and a resin base, wherein the resin base includes a polyester-based engineering plastic, an epoxy resin and an ionically cross-linked elastomer at a suitable content ratio to improve extrusion flowability, flexural strength and adhesive strength of a molded material.

Automated balance-weight applicator

A weight applicator system includes a shaft, an applicator assembly, and a weight feed assembly. The shaft defines a length between a proximal end and a distal end configured to support a wheel-tire assembly for common rotation about a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The applicator assembly is supported by the shaft and includes a base portion disposed upon the shaft and operable to translate axially along the length of the shaft, a radial portion connected to the base portion and operable to radially move relative to the base portion between a retracted position and an extended position; and a pressure roller rotatably supported by the radial portion about an axis of rotation. The weight feed assembly is operable to feed a prescribed length of weighted material to the pressure roller.

Method and device for balancing a wheel by application of a hot-melt adhesive balancing mass

Balancing weights for a rim of a vehicle wheel are made from a balancing weight material, which comprises a hot melt adhesive based on Polyolefins or Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers filled with a volume ratio between 35% and 75% of a high-density mass material like steel particles. This balancing weight material is heated such that it becomes a ductile and adhesive material, which can adhere to the rim and applied to the rim. After cooling off a solid and fixedly attached balancing weight has been made.

Balancing weights with multi layer adhesive tape

Balancing weights for cars have an adhesive tape with at least a first tape layer and a second tape layer, for attaching the balancing weights to a rim. The first tape layer is held in close proximity to a rim by a first adhesive layer. The second tape layer is held in close proximity to the balancing weights by a second adhesive layer. The first tape layer is stiffer and less flexible than the second tape layer, the second tape layer is softer and more flexible than the first tape layer. This allows easy removal of the balancing weights from the rim by pushing a wedge shaped tool between the first tape layer and the rim.

ADDITIONAL WHEEL WEIGHT FOR A UTILITY VEHICLE

An additional wheel weight for a utility vehicle includes a weight plate and a retention member configured to be fitted to a wheel rim and on which the weight plate is guided in a longitudinally axial manner. A clamping lever closure is disposed between the weight plate and retention member. A first assembly element of the clamping lever closure is coupled to the retention member, a second assembly element of the clamping lever closure engages the weight plate in a longitudinally axial manner, and a lever mechanism is disposed between the first and second assembly elements. The lever mechanism includes a clamping element being releasably secured to the first assembly element and an actuation lever being articulated between the second assembly element and the clamping element.
