The invention is characterized in that at least one damping element is formed completely from metal and as a metal cushion (46a, 48a, 50a; 52a, 54a, 56a, 64a, 66a, 68a) comprising a wire knit having elastic properties.
Support ring for a jounce bumper of a suspension system, jounce bumper assembly and use thereof
A support ring for a resiliently deformable jounce bumper is made of a cast material. The support ring contains an inner circumferential surface that defines a through-opening extending along a longitudinal axis, an outer circumferential surface, a first axial end face, an opposing second axial end face, and a plurality of recesses configured to reduce the material mass which the support ring is made of. The through-opening is configured to fit around the jounce bumper. The plurality of recesses may be formed in at least one of the two end faces such that the recesses extend from the respective end face in the axial direction into the material of the support ring.
Hybrid rotational passive energy absorber
A hybrid rotational passive energy absorber (100) is configured to mitigate effects of a load on an attached system. An axle (170) is anchored to a housing (110) at a first axle end and a second axle end. A free swinging weighted arm (180) includes a beam (130) having a length L, a pivot portion (185) disposed at a first end of the beam, and an internal mass (120) at a second end of the beam. A bearing (160) rotatably connects the pivot portion to the axle. The bearing is configured to provide smooth motion of the weighted arm around an axis (150) of the axle in a rotation and/or oscillation plane orthogonal to the axis.
Gas cup for a damper assembly and a damper assembly
A gas cup for a damper assembly comprises a body including an upper surface, a lower surface, an exterior surface and an interior surface. The body defines an aperture extending through the upper surface and the lower surface. A decoupler is located in the aperture and secured to the body. A bridging member is located between the decoupler and the body and coupled to the decoupler and the body. The decoupler and the bridging member is made from materials having different elasticity to allow the decoupler to move in the aperture in response to a volumetric change in the damper assembly and to provide variable tuning of the damper assembly. A damper assembly including the gas cup is also disclosed herein.
HOLDER, CUTTING TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINED PRODUCT
A holder in a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure may include a base having a bar shape extended from a first end to a second end along a central axis, and a first weight having a column shape and a second weight having a column shape. The base may include a cavity extended along a central axis. The first weight may be located in the cavity. The second weight may be located in the cavity and located closer to the second end than the first weight.
DAMPER ASSEMBLY
A damper includes a pressure tube extending about a longitudinal axis and defining an inner volume. The damper includes a piston attached to a piston rod and slidably disposed within the pressure tube. The piston divides the inner volume of the pressure tube into a first working chamber and a second working chamber. The damper includes a fluid connector having a first wall and a second wall, each elongated along the longitudinal axis and sealed to the pressure tube. The fluid connector has a third wall elongated along the longitudinal axis and extending from the first wall to the second wall. The pressure tube defines an opening at the first working chamber, and the third wall of the fluid connector defines an opening spaced from the opening of the pressure tube. The first wall, the second wall, and the third wall define a passage extending from the opening of the pressure tube to the opening of the third wall.
