A coil spring comprises a continuous wire forming a lowermost convolution, an uppermost convolution, and a plurality of helical intermediate convolutions. The coil spring is divided into an upper portion and a lower portion. The intermediate convolutions of the lower portion have a diameter greater than or equal to a lower minimum diameter, and the pitch between each of the convolutions of the lower portion is greater than or equal to a lower minimum pitch. The intermediate convolutions of the upper portion have a diameter greater than or equal to an upper minimum diameter, and the pitch between each of the convolutions of the upper portion is less than or equal to an upper maximum pitch. The upper minimum diameter is greater than, less than, or equal to the lower minimum diameter, and the upper maximum pitch is less than the lower minimum pitch to provide a non-linear and variable response.

Bellows

A bellows formed from an elastic material with a cylinder jacket as a basic shape, a cylinder axis corresponding to a working direction, and a jacket surface shaped into a plurality of folds transversely with respect to the working direction. Each fold has a first fold diameter perpendicular to the working direction and spaced apart therefrom in the working direction, a second fold diameter differing from the first fold diameter and spaced apart therefrom in the working direction, against the first fold diameter, and a fold wall formed integrally therewith. Consecutive folds in the working direction each have the same inner fold diameter, but alternating different outer fold diameters.

Enhanced dynamic energy dissipation by slotted apertures of soft-to-hard goods connections

A soft-to-hard goods connector is provided which includes an elastomeric bladder having a preform layer and an outer textile layer enclosing the preform layer. The outer textile layer has at least one skin extension layer extending beyond a periphery of the elastomeric bladder. The skin extension layer has a chord attached at a distal end with the chord being perpendicular to the skin extension layer. The connector includes a host rigid structure with a receiving component. The receiving component has a mounting track with the chord mounted in the mounting track. The receiving component permits the chord to rotate about a longitudinal axis of the chord with a limited range of motion.

Air spring

The invention relates to an air spring (1a) with an elastic air spring bellows (3a), wherein the air spring bellows is tightly connected to an air spring cover (2) at its first open end and to an air spring piston (6a) at its second open end and thereby at least partially encloses a working chamber (4) filled with compressed air, wherein the air spring bellows forms a rolling fold (5) which can roll on the air spring piston (6a), wherein the air spring bellows has a fastening bead (7a) at least at its one end which faces the air spring piston, wherein a radially inwardly extending shoulder region (10a) is formed at the bellows-side axial end of the air spring piston (6a), wherein a conical sealing seat (9a) is formed radially on the inside at the shoulder region, wherein a radially inner sealing face (13a) of the fastening bead bears against the conical sealing seat of the air spring piston so as to seal the working chamber, and wherein the underside (14a) of the fastening bead pointing towards the air spring piston is pushed axially onto the shoulder region of the air spring piston. It is provided according to the invention that an annular piston shoulder attachment (16a) is arranged at the shoulder region of the air spring piston, that the piston shoulder attachment has a radial inner side (19a) which directly or indirectly adjoins the radial outer side (15a) of the fastening bead of the air spring bellows, and that the piston shoulder attachment has a radial outer side (18a) which, at least in the region of its greatest external diameter, adjoins a radial outer contour (12a) of the air spring piston in a radially flush manner.
