Continuously variable transmission
A continuously variable transmission (CVT) includes a power transmission mechanism and at least one conical disk. The power transmission mechanism has a contact surface, and the power transmission mechanism includes a plurality of engaging elements. The plurality of engaging elements are retractably disposed on the contact surface. The disk surface of the conical disk has a plurality of engaging walls capable of engaging with the engaging elements. The continuously variable transmission is able to transmit power by way of engagement, such that the coupling between the power transmission mechanism and the conical disk is more stable. Thus, the continuously variable transmission is adaptable to high torsion application.
Tertiary chain lacing assembly
A random pattern chain assembly of the present invention improves noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance of a silent or inverted tooth chain. The chain assembly preferably uses at least three different link types arranged in a known pattern. The pattern is arranged such that the first link type is never adjacent the third link type, in that there is always a second link type between the first link type and the third link type.

BELT MEANS AND SYSTEM FOR CONSTRUCTING A BELT MEANS
A plate link chain for a continuously variable transmission of a motor vehicle is provided. The plate link chain includes a plurality of link plates arranged parallel to a running direction of the plate link chain and each link plate includes an aperture formed therein. A plurality of pressure pieces are oriented perpendicular to the running direction and arranged in pairs to be received in the apertures of the link plates to form two joints in each link plate. The two joints in each link plate are supported by arcuate outer sections of the pressure pieces.

CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
The CVT includes a first pulley and a second pulley. Each of the first and second pulleys includes a first sheave, a second sheave, and a pulley axle operatively coupled between the first sheave and the second sheave. The first sheave can move relative to the second sheave along the pulley axle. Each of the first and second sheaves includes a sheave body and a plurality of sheave teeth protruding from the sheave body. The CVT further includes an endless rotatable device operatively coupled between the first and second pulleys. The endless rotatable device includes a plurality of pins interconnecting at least two of the links. The endless rotatable device further includes a plurality of device teeth each coupled to the pins.

PLATE LINK CHAIN
A plate link chain for a continuously variable transmission of a motor vehicle. The chain is formed from longer and shorter chain links that are formed from and that include respective longer and shorter link plates that are coupled to each other by pairs of rocker pressure members. Both the shorter link plates and the longer link plates have at least one longitudinally extending external appendage.

A PUSHBELT FOR A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION AND A TRANSMISSION PROVIDED THEREWITH
In a pushbelt for a continuously variable transmission that includes at least one endless carrier and a number of transverse segments, which are mounted on the endless carrier. The transverse segments include a bearing surface that contacts the radial inside of the endless carrier, as well as a convexly curved tilting edge that is a part of a main body surface of the transverse segment. According to the present disclosure the convex curvature of the tilting edge extends both radially inward or below and radially outward or above the bearing surface, at least as seen in radial or height direction relative to the endless carrier.
