Retaining device and method of using the same
A retaining device configured for retaining at least one medical device adjacent to a supporting surface. The retaining device includes a plate shaped holding portion defining a peripheral edge, a slot extending from the peripheral edge defining a loading channel, and communicating with an internal holding area. The internal holding area is dimensioned to accept the largest medical device the retaining device is configured to be used with. An attachment mechanism is connected to the holding portion to secure the retaining device to a supporting surface. A section of medical device may be inserted into and along the loading channel to enter the holding area and be retained within.
SPLICER THIMBLE FOR ROPE
A thimble apparatus for use with a rope has a thimble eye formed as a generally U-shaped shackle defining a center aperture therein with arms on opposing sides of the aperture. The thimble eye has an outer surface, a front face, and a rear face. A groove is formed within the front face of the shackle generally in the shape of a U and has a width. A rope seat is formed within the shackle beneath the groove proximal to the rear face and has a diameter larger than the width of the groove. The groove forms a passage to the rope seat from the front face along the length of the groove. A base connects to ends of the arms of the shackle closing the aperture. The base defines a channel formed as an open-ended groove through the base such that in use the channel permits a rope to extend from either one of adjacent sides of the base to position the thimble apparatus between first and second positions.
CONNECTING DEVICE FOR A CARABINER
A connecting device for a carabiner, comprising a first connection part for connecting said device to a base member and at least two second connection parts for connecting said device to at least two carabiners. The device is characterized in that said at least two second connection parts each are a rotatable or tiltable connection part. Preferably, said second connection parts each are embodied as a concave socket for coupling to a carabiner comprising a convex body.
Method of Terminating a Stranded Synthetic Filament Cable
An apparatus and method for terminating a multi-stranded, non-parallel cable. An anchor is provided on the end of each strand. A collector is provided to link the anchors and connected strands into a single unit. An alignment fixture is provided to transition the strands from the non-parallel lay within the cable to a parallel path adjacent to the anchors.
A WINCH RIGGING LINK
A winch rigging link has a body defining a cable retainer and a soft shackle retainer at opposite ends. The body has a length, a width less than the length, and a depth less than the width. Furthermore, the body defines opposing faces bounded by the length and width and spaced apart by the depth. The soft shackle retainer comprises a channel running widthwise across the soft shackle retainer an in between the faces. The channel defines a bearing surface having curvature in a lengthwise and widthwise plane. The cable retainer may be permanently attached to a winch cable and the soft shackle retainer attached to a soft shackle or the like when required for winch rigging. The configuration of the link maximises the bend radius of the soft shackle or the like retained by the soft shackle retainer, despite the relatively narrow profile of the body thereof.
Lockable shackle apparatus and method of use
A lockable shackle apparatus, and method of use, is provided herein. The lockable shackle apparatus may comprise a stopper body, a rope, and a flexible lock. First and second passageways extend through the stopper body transverse to a length of the stopper body. The rope is positioned through the first and second passageways with a majority of the rope extending from a first pair of adjacent ends of the first and second passageways. The flexible lock includes a main hole configured to receive the majority of the rope and be positioned adjacent to the stopper body. A distal portion of the majority of the rope is configured to be removably positioned over the stopper block. The flexible lock further includes first and second lock holes configured to be positioned over first and second ends of the stopper body for retaining the distal portion of the rope on the stopper body.
SECURING DEVICE
A securing device (10) for securing an elongate article (12) comprises a rotatable clamping member (22), and a support arrangement for supporting the clamping member (22). The clamping member (22) is rotatably mounted on the support arrangement. The securing device (10) defines a pathway (30) for the elongate article (12). The clamping member (22) is rotatably movable into the pathway (30). The support arrangement further includes an urging formation (20) for urging the clamping member (22) into a clamping position in said pathway (30).
Helical jumper connector
A helical jumper connector includes a helical support member configured to support a wire. The helical support member includes a first leg having a first helical winding and a second leg having a second helical winding that defines a second axial opening. The first axial opening and the second axial opening are coaxial with the wire when the first helical winding and the second helical winding are wrapped around the wire and cooperatively engage with one another to support the wire. A jumper casting is configured to receive the helical support member. The helical support member and the jumper casting are electrically conductive such that the helical jumper connector forms an electrically conductive pathway to carry electrical current from the wire. A method of making a helical jumper connector assembly includes applying a compression force to a helical jumper connector comprising a helical support member received in a jumper casting.
Cable with Joints for the Connection of Cable Armour Non-Metallic Elements
The present disclosure relates to a cable comprising a cable core and an armor, the armor being formed by a plurality of consecutive sections of non-metallic tensile elements wound around the cable core, each section including a first non-metallic tensile element connected to a second non-metallic tensile element of the consecutive sections by a joint comprising a first socket and a second socket, each of said sockets comprising a flat body extending longitudinally along a longitudinal axis (S) between a proximal end and a distal end and comprising an inner through bore between a proximal aperture at the proximal end and a distal aperture at the distal end, the first and second non-metallic tensile elements having an end portion being housed in the inner through bore of respectively the first and second socket by the proximal aperture and secured therein by a bonding material, and each inner through bore being shaped to translationally and rotationally lock the bonding material; an interconnecting device translationally and rotationally locked in the distal apertures of the first and the second sockets and allowing the sockets to relatively rotate exclusively around at least one rotation axis (R) perpendicular to a plane where the socket body longitudinal axes (S) of the first and the second sockets lie.
System for bracing a tensile element in a vehicle
A system for bracing a tensile element in a vehicle has an elongate tensile element having a traction eyelet, a structurally fixed holder, and a tensioning device. The tensioning device has an angled tensioning lever having first and second leg portions with a pivot bearing disposed therebetween. The fixed holder has a bearing which for coupling to the traction eyelet is displaceable along a first direction. The tensioning lever by way of the pivot bearing is coupled to the holder. The first leg portion is coupled to the bearing such that the bearing by pivoting the tensioning lever is displaced in the holder. The second leg portion has a tensioning means which by displacing the bearing sets a variable spacing between the second leg portion and a tensioning face that faces the second leg portion.
