Connection member and a method of configuring said member
12042913 · 2024-07-23 · ·

A method of configuring a connection member. The connection member comprises a first end, a second end, and an intermediate portion between said ends. Each end comprises respective first and second insertion regions. In the operative state, first and second curved sections are arranged on opposite sides of each of the first and second ends. The first and second ends are movable to be arranged in the vicinity of each other, and abut against each other, and thereby form a lock over the intermediate portion. The connection member may be a loop formed of a flexible material or a flexible elongated body having a first end and a second end, separated by an intermediate portion and comprising at each end respective first and second insertion regions. The connection member may be formed from a rope having first and second ends formed by braiding or other technique.

Device for Termination of a Rope
20240240694 · 2024-07-18 ·

A device for termination of a rope comprises a cylinder extending longitudinally from a base to a cone or pyramid, wherein the cylinder defines at least one channel for receiving a pair of subropes substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. It can be used for termination of rope manufactured from synthetic fibres or constructed from multiple subropes.

Centerpost Thimble

The Centerpost Thimble, spliced into the end of a rope or cable, provides a strong and secure method of attachment to a ringbolt, padeye, or other fitting by capturing each end of a rope loop passed through said fitting. This provides a means to attach the cable which is nearly universal (limited only to what a loop can be led around), with a minimum of parts, and where metals do not contact one another.

Rope adjusting device and article having rope adjusting device

A rope adjusting device, including an adjusting piece, a mounting base, and a rope winder configured to wind a rope. The adjusting piece is rotatably connected to the mounting base. The adjusting piece includes a driving portion and a linking portion which are fixed with respect to each other and coaxially provided. A rotation limiting portion corresponding to the linking portion and configured to limit the rotating direction of the linking portion is provided on the mounting base. The rope winder is rotatably connected to the mounting base. A driven portion in transmission connection with the driving portion is provided on the rope winder. The rotating axis of the driving portion and the rotating axis of the driven portion are collinear. Also provided is an article having the rope adjusting device.

Splicer thimble for rope

A thimble apparatus for use with a rope has a thimble eye formed as a generally U-shaped shackle defining a center aperture therein with arms on opposing sides of the aperture. The thimble eye has an outer surface, a front face, and a rear face. A groove is formed within the front face of the shackle generally in the shape of a U and has a width. A rope seat is formed within the shackle beneath the groove proximal to the rear face and has a diameter larger than the width of the groove. The groove forms a passage to the rope seat from the front face along the length of the groove. A base connects to ends of the arms of the shackle closing the aperture. The base defines a channel formed as an open-ended groove through the base such that in use the channel permits a rope to extend from either one of adjacent sides of the base to position the thimble apparatus between first and second positions.

SLIDING CABLE SAFETY DEVICE FOR CONDUITS OR SIMILAR EQUIPMENTS SUBJECT TO PRESSURE AND CORRESPONDING INSTALLATION INCLUDING SUCH SAFETY DEVICE
20190063659 · 2019-02-28 ·

A safety device with a sliding cable and a corresponding installation, to secure conduits, pipes, piping and similar equipments subject to high pressure due to fluid under pressure circulating in such conduits and equipments. The safety device includes a flexible cable which forms a first and a second attachment eyelet for attaching and connecting the safety device to two parts of the conduits and equipments under pressure. A first and a second sleeve which close two end portions of the flexible cable form, at the ends of the safety device, the first and second attachment eyelets. Two terminals are provided at the opposite ends of the flexible cable.

HELICAL JUMPER CONNECTOR

A helical jumper connector includes a helical support member configured to support a wire. The helical support member includes a first leg having a first helical winding and a second leg having a second helical winding that defines a second axial opening. The first axial opening and the second axial opening are coaxial with the wire when the first helical winding and the second helical winding are wrapped around the wire and cooperatively engage with one another to support the wire. A jumper casting is configured to receive the helical support member. The helical support member and the jumper casting are electrically conductive such that the helical jumper connector forms an electrically conductive pathway to carry electrical current from the wire. A method of making a helical jumper connector assembly includes applying a compression force to a helical jumper connector comprising a helical support member received in a jumper casting.

Termination Installation for Long Cables

A method for creating a composite cable having at least one high-performance termination on at least one end. A high-performance termination is added to an end of a short synthetic tensile strength member. The strength of the tensile strength member and termination is then tested. Once tested satisfactorily, the short cable is spiced onto a long cable of the same type using prior art splicing techniques. The union of the short cable and the long cable creates a composite cable having a high-performance termination on at least one end. In most applications preferable to set the length of the short cable so that the interwoven splice will exist at a desired location.

LENGTH ADJUSTING DEVICES AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME

A length adjusting device includes: a body having sides extending in spaced relation to one another, the sides defining respective planes; a first cam operably assembled in relation to the body and having a first proximal cam end positioned between the sides; a second cam operably assembled in relation to the body and having a second proximal cam end positioned between the sides and adjacent to the first proximal cam end; an axle that rotatably attaches the second cam to the body; a channel formed by a space between the cam ends; a handle attached to the body and rotatable from a first position to a second position about a rotation point upon application of a first force; wherein the body is configured to rotate with respect to the second cam to expand the size of the channel upon the application of the first force exerted on the handle.
