Apparatus and method for determining the wear condition of a chain
In a method for determining the elongation of segments of a chain of a chain drive during operation, a plurality of measured values is determined at different positions of the chain. A plurality of length values is determined from the plurality of measured values and the length values are assigned to the segments of the chain, with the length of the segments of the chain being smaller than the length of the chain.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REPAIRING CHAINS
A method of repairing a chain can include aligning a bore of an outer chain link with a bore of an inner chain link, inserting a pin through the aligned bores, the pin having a thread end opposite a head end, engaging a multi-jackbolt tensioner with the thread end of the pin, the multi-jackbolt tensioner having a plurality of fasteners, advancing each of the plurality of fasteners to press on the outer chain link, and forming an interference fit between the pin and the outer chain link at the bore of the outer chain link from the advancing of the fasteners.
Chain drive mechanism
To provide a simple-structured chain drive mechanism that can reduce the noise generated when the chain sits on the sprocket, prevent deterioration of power transmission efficiency, and retard the progress of wear on the sprocket or chain. The chain drive mechanism includes a sprocket having a plurality of teeth, and a chain having a plurality of link plates and configured to be put around the sprocket. The sprocket includes a pair of flanges protruding circumferentially around the sprocket such as to sandwich the plurality of teeth from sides. The chain includes a pair of seat portions on both sides of the chain so that the flanges abut on the seat portions from a circumferential direction of the sprocket when the chain sits.

Seal chain
A seal chain includes two inner link plates opposed to and spaced apart from each other, a tubular bushing, opposite ends of the bushing being respectively joined to the two inner link plates, a pin rotationally inserted into the bushing, a tubular roller into which the bushing is inserted, the roller being rotationally supported by the bushing, and two outer link plates arranged to externally hold the two inner link plates in between, opposite ends of the pin being respectively joined to the two outer link plates. A recess into which an end of the roller is inserted is formed in an inner surface of each of the inner link plates.

Chain plate
A chain plate includes two end segments, and an intermediate segment between the end segments. One of the end segments has an extension portion extending away from a rod hole of the end segment in a lengthwise direction. A distance from a center of the rod hole to an edge of the end segment in the lengthwise direction is greater than a distance from the center of the rod hole to an edge of the end segment in a widthwise direction. An inner surface of the chain plate has a first inclined region corresponding to a peripheral region of the end segment, and a second inclined region corresponding to the extension portion and between the first inclined region and the rod hole. The intermediate segment is formed with a recess.
