VEHICLE TRANSMISSION AND METHOD OF OPERATION
A vehicle transmission using a gearset. Multi-mode clutches selectively couple components of the gearset. The transmission operates in and shifts between a first forward gear and a second forward gear using a change in input rotation. An electric motor coupled to the input may be used to change the input rotation direction.
VARIABLE GEAR RATIO TRANSFER GEAR SET FOR ACTUATION SYSTEM
A variable gear ratio gear set system includes a planetary gear set including a sun gear locate at a central axis of rotation, a plurality of planet gears meshed with the sun gear and retained at a carrier, and a ring gear surrounding the plurality of planet gears and meshed therewith. An input shaft inputs rotational energy to the planetary gear set at a first rotational speed, and an output shaft outputs rotational energy from the planetary gear set at a second rotational speed. A plurality of one-way clutches are positioned in the gear set and are engageable such that the system has a first gear ratio when the input shaft is rotated in a first direction, and a second gear ratio when the input shaft is rotated in a second direction.
Self-Ventilated Bi-Directional Traction Drive Unit
A self-ventilated bi-directional traction drive unit (10) comprises a bi-directional motor (12), an asymmetric fan (14) for ventilating the motor (12), and a mechanical transmission (14) between a motor shaft (24) of the motor (12) and an asymmetric fan rotor (38) of the fan (14). The mechanical transmission (14) is operative to drive the fan rotor (38) in a preferred fan direction (102) with a first constant gear ratio Ri when the motor shaft (24) rotates in a first traction direction and to drive the fan rotor (38) in the preferred fan direction with a second constant gear ratio R2 when the motor shaft (24) rotates in a second traction direction opposite to the first traction direction. The mechanical transmission (14) includes a planetary gear train (28) comprising a sun gear (30), a sun gear (32) and a set of one or more planet gears (34) supported on at least one planet carrier (36) and further includes free wheels (40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52), A first (46) of the free wheels operates between the planet carrier (36) and the fan rotor (38) to block the rotation of the fan rotor (38) with respect to the planet carrier (36) in a direction opposite to the preferred fan direction and a second (50) of the free wheels operates between the ring gear (32) and the fan rotor (38) to block the rotation of the fan rotor (38) with respect to the ring gear (32) in the preferred fan direction and in that the mechanical transmission (14) is such that (I).
Input synthesis apparatus
An input synthesis apparatus according to the present invention includes: a first input unit which provides first rotational force; a second input unit which provides second rotational force equal to or different from the first rotational force; a gear unit which is engaged with the first input unit and the second input unit and synthesizes the first rotational force and the second rotational force; and an output unit which outputs resultant force of the first rotational force and the second rotational force, in which the gear unit sums up speeds or torque of the first rotational force and the second rotational force based on whether a rotation direction of the first input unit and a rotation direction of the second input unit are identical to each other.
DIRECTION CONTROLLED GEARBOX FOR APPLIANCE
A drive system for use in a piece of an appliance includes a drive shaft and a first rotary coupling and a second rotary coupling. When the drive shaft is rotated in a first direction, the first rotary coupling and the second rotary coupling rotate about an axis of the drive shaft at a same speed. When the drive shaft is rotated in a second opposite direction, the first rotary coupling and the second rotary coupling rotate about the axis of said drive shaft at different speeds.
GEARING SYSTEM FOR COMPOUND GEAR REDUCTION
A transmission comprising an input shaft connectable to a power generation device such that the input shaft is rotatable at a power input rotational speed, an output shaft connectable to a driveline of the vehicle, and a plurality of gear sets selectable to operably connect the input shaft to the output shaft providing a rotational speed reduction ratio therebetween. The gear sets comprise a master active gear set having a master gear ratio, a slave active gear set having a slave gear ratio, and a passive gear set having a passive gear ratio. The passive gear set is operable to selectively engage the master and slave active gear sets to provide the high numeric compound ratio rotational speed reduction that is the product of the master active gear ratio, the slave active gear ratio and the passive gear ratio.
INTEGRATED STARTER-GENERATOR DEVICE WITH POWER TRANSMISSION
A combination engine starter and electric power generator device for a work vehicle has an electric machine and a gear set mounted to the electric machine. The gear set is configured to receive rotational input from the electric machine and from the work vehicle engine. The gear set mechanically couples the electric machine and the engine in first and second power flow directions in which in the first power flow direction the gear set effects a first gear ratio and in the second power flow direction the gear set effects a second gear ratio.
POWER DRIVE UNIT WITH DUAL GEAR RATIO MECHANISM
A gear ratio mechanism includes an input shaft, a first planetary gear set, a second planetary gear set, and a carrier link associated with an output shaft. The carrier link is configured to couple the first planetary gear set and the second planetary gear set. The carrier link is selectively driven by the first planetary gear set and the second planetary gear set in response to rotation of the input shaft.
Drive assembly for an appliance
A drive assembly for a blender appliance includes an output drive shaft and an inner one-way bearing member received in an interior cavity of the output drive shaft. An outer bearing member is oppositely configured relative to the inner one-way bearing member and includes a receiving bore. The receiving well of the output drive shaft is received in the receiving bore of the outer one-way bearing member. An input drive shaft includes a first end received in a receiving bore of the inner one-way bearing member. A planetary gear system includes a sun gear that is operably coupled to the input drive shaft and gearingly engaged with a ring gear through a plurality of planet gears. A carrier member is operably coupled to the plurality of planet gears and includes a receiving bore in which the outer one-way bearing member is received for rotation therewith.

A gear system for combining inputs is provided. The gear system can includes: a first power source that generates a rotational force; a second power source that generates a rotational force identical to or different from the rotational force of the first power source; a third power source that generates a rotational force identical or different from the rotational forces of the first power source and the second power source; and a gear unit that generates a resultant output by combining the rotational forces from the first power source to the third power source, in which the gear unit generates a resultant output by combining torque of any two of the first power source to the third power source and combining a speed of the other power source. According to this configuration, it is possible to generate various outputs from various power sources having the same or different characteristics.
