A system for a driveline is provided. In one example a driveline may include a first and a second input shaft gear disposed on an input shaft. In one example, the first input shaft gear may selectively drivingly engage with the input shaft via a first clutch and the second input shaft gear may selectively drivingly engage with the input shaft via a second clutch. In another example, a first and a second counter shaft gear may be disposed on a countershaft and drivingly engage with the countershaft, wherein the first input shaft gear drivingly engages with the first countershaft gear and the second input shaft gear is drivingly engages with the second countershaft gear via an idler gear.

Shifting device for shifting a transmission

Shifting device for shifting a transmission, having a first group of shift elements and a second group of shift elements, a selector shaft, which is arranged in such a way that it can be moved in translation along a longitudinal axis and rotated about the longitudinal axis, wherein it is possible, by moving the selector shaft into one of a plurality of possible translational positions, to select at least one shift element of the first group and at least one shift element of the second group and, by rotating the selector shaft, to actuate the selected shift elements. The at least one selected shift element of the first group can be actuated in phase or with an overlapping phase displacement or an offset phase displacement with respect to the at least one selected shift element of the second group.

A transmission includes a shifting fork. The transmission has a first gear state and a second gear state being selectable by means of the shifting fork. The shifting fork is displaceable in an axial direction between a first predetermined position and a second predetermined position. The first gear state is provided when the shifting fork is placed in the first predetermined position and the second gear state is provided when the shifting fork is placed in the second predetermined position. The first predetermined position and the second predetermined position are arranged one after the other without any further predetermined position providing a further selectable gear state arranged between the first predetermined position and the second predetermined position. The first gear state provides a first gear of the transmission and the second gear state provides a second gear or a park lock state of the transmission.

Heavy duty transmission architecture

A transmission includes a main shaft having two or more main shaft clutches that couple gears to at least one countershaft, and an automated manual transmission coupled to the main shaft via the at least one countershaft. The automated manual transmission includes a front input shaft coupled directly to a main clutch and having a first clutch coupleable to the at least one countershaft, and a rear input shaft coupled to the front input shaft and having a second clutch coupleable to the at least one countershaft. The automated manual transmission is operable to selectively engage the first clutch and the second clutch.
