High efficiency, high output transmission having an aluminum housing
A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. An integrated actuator housing includes a single external power access for the shift actuator. A controller interprets a shaft displacement angle, determines if the transmission is in an imminent zero or zero torque region, and performs a transmission operation in response to the transmission in the imminent zero or zero torque region.

A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift control circuit operates a shift actuator using a first opposing pulse command and a first actuating pulse command, and releases pressure with shift actuating and opposing volumes of the shift actuator upon determining a shift completion event.
COMPACT MODULAR RIGHT-ANGLE DRIVE GEAR ALIGNED ACTUATOR
A gear drive, such as for an actuator, is a right-angle drive where toothed outer ridge of a face gear is coupled to teeth of a motor output shaft, and a set of planetary gears are engaged with a central sun gear of the face gear. The sun gear and planetary gears are aligned with the motor output shaft. For instance the motor output shaft may be substantially in the same plane with the sun gear and the planetary gears. From another standpoint the axis of the motor output shaft may intersect the sun gear, as well as intersecting a volume that the planetary gears sweep through as the planetary gears engage the sun gear.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVING APPARATUS
According to various embodiments, an electric vehicle driving apparatus may include a driving motor, a plurality of shafts, a plurality of gears including a planetary gear set, a synchronizer, and a clutch. The electric vehicle driving apparatus may have a coaxial structure in which an input shaft connected to the driving motor is disposed coaxially with an output shaft connected to a wheel, and may continuously transmit power through a power bypass path when changing a speed. The electric vehicle driving apparatus may improve a spatial usability and improve shifting feeling by minimizing shift shock.
