SAFETY CLUTCH
20170268636 · 2017-09-21 ·

A clutch comprising a drive pulley, a driven pulley, a belt selectively rotationally coupling the drive pulley and the driven pulley, at least one idler pulley positioned between the drive pulley and the driven pulley, and a friction brake. The idler pulley being moveable between a belt engaged position and a belt disengaged position. The friction brake has a friction element and a clamping face. The clamping face is moveable between a first position wherein the clamping face is spaced a first distance from the friction element such that the belt may freely rotate and frictionally engage the drive pulley and the driven pulley when the idler pulley and a second position wherein the clamping face is spaced a second distance from the friction element such that the belt is securely clamped by the friction element and the clamping face.

DRIVE ASSEMBLY WITH ROTATOR SYSTEM
20170268637 · 2017-09-21 ·

A drive assembly having a rotator system and including a drive pulley, a driven pulley spaced apart from the drive pulley, a drive belt, a rotator pulley, and a rotator belt. The driven pulley supports a tool assembly, and the drive belt is connected to the drive pulley and the driven pulley. The drive belt is selectively tensioned to couple the drive pulley and the driven pulley so that rotation of the drive pulley causes the driven pulley to rotate and de-tensioned to decouple the drive pulley and the driven pulley allowing the drive pulley to rotate without causing the driven pulley to rotate. The rotator belt couples the rotator pulley and the driven pulley in a way that when the drive belt is decoupled from the drive pulley and the driven pulley rotation of the rotator pulley causes the driven pulley and the tool assembly to rotate.

PROPORTIONALLY DAMPED POWER TRANSFER DEVICE USING TORSION SPRING FORCE
20170254366 · 2017-09-07 ·

In an aspect, a power transfer device, such as a decoupler, is provided for transferring torque between a shaft and a belt. The device includes: a hub configured to 5 couple to the shaft, a pulley rotatably coupled to the hub that includes a power transmitting surface configured to engage the belt, an isolation spring to transfer a rotational load from one of the pulley and the hub to the other of the pulley and the hub, optionally a one-way clutch to permit overrunning of one of the pulley and the hub relative to the other of the pulley and the hub in a first direction, and a damping member 10 positioned to be driven into frictional engagement with a friction surface by a force from the isolation spring acting on the damping member that varies based on the rotational load transferred by the isolation spring.

Motorized Wheelbarrow

A motorized wheelbarrow including a motor and a drive pulley that rotates when the motor is operating. The motorized wheelbarrow also includes wheels and a drive train assembly for transmitting power from the motor to the wheels. The motorized wheelbarrow also includes a clutch assembly movable between a connected condition, in which the motor and the drive train assembly are connected by the clutch assembly, and a disconnected condition, in which the motor and the drive train assembly are not connected with each other, and a brake assembly movable between an engaged condition, in which the brake assembly resists rotation of the wheels, and a disengaged condition, in which the brake assembly does not resist rotation of the wheels. Both of the clutch assembly and the brake assembly are controlled by a single control assembly so that the clutch assembly and the brake assembly are mutually functionally exclusive.

A snowblower belt drive system a tensioner pulley that can slide forwardly and rearwardly in a path that is substantially parallel to an endless drive belt between a drive pulley and a driven pulley. A drive belt engagement spring urges the tensioner pulley rearwardly along the slot to engage the drive pulley and driven pulley. A manual return spring urges the tensioner pulley forwardly along the slot to disengage the drive pulley and driven pulley.

All wheel drive, walk behind mower

A drive system includes a first transmission, a second transmission and at least one flexible driving member. The first transmission is operably coupled to a first set of wheels to provide drive power to the first set of wheels responsive to engagement of the first transmission. The second transmission is operably coupled to a second set of wheels to provide drive power to the second set of wheels responsive to engagement of the second transmission. The at least one flexible driving member is operably coupled to a remote actuator and a drive shaft of the walk-behind outdoor power equipment device. The at least one flexible member selectively engages one of the first transmission or the second transmission to switch a walk-behind outdoor power equipment device between all wheel drive operation and another drive mode via the remote actuator.

WALK-BEHIND TRACTOR WITH INCREASED GROUND CLEARANCE
20210276635 · 2021-09-09 · ·

A walk-behind tractor has an increased ground clearance to define a plant receiving space that has a greater height than a conventional walk-behind tractor having a straight axle. The walk-behind tractor has trailing drop arms from a frame that carry wheel axles that result in an elevated height of a driveshaft. The elevated driveshaft increases the ground clearance for taller plants to pass therebeneath during operation of the walk-behind tractor which would otherwise be too tall to pass below a conventional straight axle walk-behind tractor.

A clutch includes first and second sheaves, the first sheave including a housing with a slot. A bar is inserted within the slot and a bolt engaged with a threaded opening in the bar and tensioned such that it presses against the second sheave forcing it outwardly against a biasing force. The bar may include two end portions with different widths for two different types of clutches, each end portion including a threaded opening. The clutch may include a slider mounted to the second sheave and positioned with the slot. The bar may include a recess on a bottom surface providing clearance for the slider.

TENSIONING OF BELT DRIVES
20210033173 · 2021-02-04 · ·

A belt drive comprises a first pulley and at least one additional pulley and uses an elastic belt that is engagable over the pulleys. An auxiliary unit, connected to the first pulley, has a detent. A tensioning link comprises an open-ended slot for receiving in a slidable manner the detent. In an operating position of the belt drive the detent is locatable at a closed end of the open-ended slot and to obtain a belt changing position the detent is movable along the open-ended slot towards an open end of the open-ended slot. Movement of the detent along the open-ended slot requires simultaneous rotation of the auxiliary unit,
