TRACTION DRIVE TRANSMISSION FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE ACCESSORY GEARBOX
A gas turbine engine assembly according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a turbine section having first and second turbines mounted for rotation about a common rotational axis within an engine static structure, first and second turbine shafts coaxial with one another and to which the first and second turbines are respectively operatively mounted, an accessory drive gearbox a first towershaft interconnecting the accessory drive gearbox and the first or second turbine shaft, and a multispeed transmission interconnecting the accessory drive gearbox and at least one accessory component.

Separable robotic interface
A method is provided. The method includes axially aligning a carrier portion of a separable robotic interface with a probe portion, the carrier portion coupled to a free end of a robotic arm, sliding the carrier portion over the probe portion in response to radially orienting a first alignment feature between the probe portion and the carrier portion, and in response compressing a spring-loaded plug in the carrier portion to release one or more ball bearings to make contact with an outer surface of the probe portion, the plug radially coupled to the carrier portion through a second alignment feature, seating the one or more ball bearings into matching recesses in the outer surface in response to sliding the carrier portion over the probe portion a predetermined distance, and rotating a locking ring of the carrier portion to axially lock the carrier portion to the probe portion.
Baling apparatus
A baler including a flywheel driven by a PTO of a tractor, an input shaft which connects to the PTO, an output shaft which connects to the flywheel, an intermediate gear mounted for rotation between the input shaft and the output shaft, the intermediate gear being parallel to the input shaft and adapted to drive the output shaft, wherein the input shaft includes a displaceable geared collar adapted to engage the intermediate gear with either a first lower gear ratio or a second higher gear ratio. This allows the tractor PTO a lower ratio (speed) range to start the flywheel and then accelerate the flywheel to an intermediate speed before shifting and accelerating to the final desired operating speed.
Super-turbocharger having a high speed traction drive and a continuously variable transmission
A super-turbocharger utilizing a high speed, fixed ratio traction drive that is coupled to a continuously variable transmission to allow for high speed operation is provided. A high speed traction drive is utilized to provide speed reduction from the high speed turbine shaft. A second traction drive provides infinitely variable speed ratios through a continuously variable transmission. Gas recirculation in a super-turbocharger is also disclosed.
