The puzzle pieces include conductive pads connected by a conductor such as a wire, a metallic strip or a conductive paint, so that upon assembling the puzzle, the pads are in contact to form a continuous conductive path. The frame or the puzzle pieces include a battery (or an AC adapter) and a visual or audible signaling device operating upon sensing the continuity of the conductive path. Each of the puzzle pieces may include three or more conductive pads, allowing for the forming two or more isolated or connected distinct conductive paths. The conductive path can further affect a time measurement and its related display for timing the puzzle solving.

Described is a board that is operable as a children's book or puzzle with parts that move, slide or turn on one lateral plane to physically change an illustration or part of the item and, as they slide or turn, activate a noise related to the illustration. The board includes a generally planar top illustrative layer. A bottom base layer is attached with the top illustrative layer. The bottom base layer includes a light sensor and sound generation components for generating a sound based upon actuation of the light sensor. A moving component is movably connected with the bottom base layer. Finally, the light sensor is connected with the bottom base layer and positioned such that moving the moving component from a first position to a second position exposes the light sensor to cause the sound generation components to generate a sound.

The support plate, the frame element and the lid element are formed and arrangeable with respect to each other in such a way that in the package state the support plate is circumferentially grippable by at least a lower edge of an outer wall of the frame element. On an upper wall of the frame element parallel to the support plate the lid element is arranged so that a package in parallelepiped shape is created. In the frame state the frame element is arranged on a front surface of the support plate along its circumference, and the lid element is arranged either on a rear surface of the support plate or between a front surface of the support plate and the frame element.
