GEARED DRIVE SYSTEM PROVIDING INTERMITTENT MOTION
A mounting assembly may include an arced connecting member that includes a first drive chain along a bottom surface of the arced connecting member, a second drive chain positioned adjacent to the first drive chain, and a third drive chain in a gap between the first and the second drive chains. The mounting assembly may include an intermittent-motion drive system that has a drive wheel with a nub extending from a lateral surface of the drive wheel, the nub being shaped to interface with notches included along the third drive chain. The intermittent-motion drive system may include a first and a second protrusion shaped to interface with surfaces of the first and second drive chains, respectively. Rotation of a drive axle extending through the drive wheel may affect rotation of the drive wheel, rotational movement of the nub extending from the drive wheel, and movement of the arced connecting member.
Hard stop assembly for a joint adapted for more than a single revolution
A rotating joint assembly such as an interface device in a master device or remote manipulator for a puppeteering device or other mechanical system operating in response to operator input and requiring more than 360 degrees of rotation. The rotating joint assembly includes a hard stop assembly that limits the rotation of its rotating component(s) to a predefined maximum amount of rotation such as to less than two full revolutions, e.g., some rotation amount between 360 and 720 degrees. The hard stop assembly includes a Geneva drive body or driven wheel with a hard stop body rigidly coupled with the Geneva drive body to rotate it between a disengaged position (during the first revolution) and one of two engaged positions by rotation of an inner ring (at some point during the second revolution in either direction).

DRIVE MECHANISM IN PARTICULAR FOR MAYTAGGING OPERATION
A device includes multiple circular drive wheels rotationally connected, with two featuring drive pins. A drive motor, attached to one of these wheels, continuously rotates it, thereby rotating all connected wheels. The device has a driven wheel with two opposing radial slots that enable intermittent rotation around its axis as drive pins engage alternately, changing rotation direction in consecutive phases. The device also includes a first gearing wheel linked to the driven wheel and a second gearing wheel coupled to the first. A payload is connected to this second gearing wheel, which, with the payload, rotates 160-200 degrees in one direction when a drive pin engages one radial slot.
