Variable valve drive having a rocker lever
10287929 · 2019-05-14 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a variable valve drive for a lifting valve, in particular for a charge-exchange valve of an internal combustion engine, which is periodically movable between a closed position and an open position indirectly by way of a cam via a rocker lever. The variable valve drive includes a switchable rocker lever arrangement for the actuation of the lifting valve, having a transmission rocker lever and a valve rocker lever which are mounted pivotably on different rocker lever axles which are each parallel to the camshaft axis.

OSCILLATING LEVER DRIVEN REVERSIBLE MOTOR
20190118919 · 2019-04-25 ·

An oscillating reversible motor providing a novel means of converting oscillating motion into selectable clockwise or counterclockwise rotary motion. More particularly, the invention presents a novel approach to a foot or hand pedal driven apparatus with which a traditional rotary water propeller or other output device may be employed in both forward and reverse directions of relative motion.

Multi-Bolt Clamshell Retainer for Wristpin on Rod Pump Unit

An assembly connects a pitman arm to a slot in a crank arm of a pumping unit. A pin extends from the pitman arm disposed on a first side of the crank arm. The pin is disposed in the slot of the crank arm and has a distal end exposed on a second side of the crank arm. The distal end defines an external shouldered profile. A clamp is positioned on the distal end of the pin. The clamp has an internal shouldered profile, which is configured to engage the external shouldered profile on the pin. One or more spacers are disposed on the clamp and are configured to adjustably extend from the clamp toward the second side of the crank arm.

In-vehicle device

An in-vehicle device includes: a movable member; a motor that moves the movable member; at least one detection switch that detects movement of the movable member; and a controller that controls the motor based on a detected output of the detection switch. The in-vehicle device further includes: a locking mechanism unit that, upon determination by the controller based on the detected output from the detection switch that the movable member reaches an end point region in a movement direction, locks the movable member, and upon determination by the controller that a main switch is set to OFF, releases the lock; and a motor driver that, after the release of the lock by the locking mechanism unit, upon determination by the controller based on the detected output from the detection switch that the movable member is moved again, drives the motor to move the movable member.

SUMMING AND FAULT TOLERANT ROTARY ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
20190063574 · 2019-02-28 ·

An actuator assembly comprising an output member rotatable about an output axis, first and second actuators each having an axis of rotation, a drive motor and a hold motor, first and second linkages between each of the first and second actuators and the output member, wherein a torque produced by a drive motor is summed through the linkages at the output member when the respective hold motor is restrained from rotating, and wherein the respective hold motor may be selectively released so that it rotates with a failure of the respective drive motor, and wherein one of the first or second actuators may be driven to selectively rotate the output member with a failure of the drive motor of the other of the first or second actuators. The assembly may comprise a third actuator linked to the output member in the same manner as the first and second actuators.

ADAPTIVE STABILIZER BAR WITH CYCLOIDAL DRIVE

An improved adaptive stabilizer bar is provided. The stabilizer bar includes a cycloidal drive between first and second portions of a divided torsion bar. The cycloidal drive includes a cycloidal gear assembly that provides a significant mechanical advantage, allowing relatively small electric motors to be used. In addition, the cycloidal gear assembly has a relatively small physical footprint, particularly when compared to a planetary gear assembly, for example.

Actuator and corresponding method

An actuator (1) having an energy accumulator (6), with which an emergency drive (5) can be supplied, is configured to be tensioned by an electric motor (2). The motor (2) displaces at least one engaging element (41, 42) of the energy accumulator (6), on which a restoring force of the energy accumulator (6) acts, along an actuating travel in normal operating mode.

Automatic transverse strain extensometer architecture

The disclosed embodiment is an extensometer to measure transverse strain with a passive vertical system making use of a linear optical encoder. The sensor arms are mounted on respective carriages which traverse on respective linear tracks. The carriages are spring-loaded so as to bias the sensor arms toward a closing direction. In order to separate the sensor arms and act against the force of the springs, the carriages are responsive to or pushed by upper and lower drive brackets which are affixed to respective upper and lower portions of a looped timing belt. The extensometer makes use of a low-friction design to minimize rolling friction in the movement of the two sensor arms. One carriage includes an encoder read-head which directly faces an encoder scale on the other carriage. In this configuration, the exact relative position of the two carriages, and hence the two sensor arms, can be read.
