IMPELLER WITH STAKED BLADES AND TORQUE CONVERTER INCLUDING IMPELLER WITH STAKED BLADES
A torque converter, including: a cover arranged to receive torque; an impeller and a turbine. The impeller includes an impeller shell non-rotatably connected to the cover and a plurality of impeller blades. The impeller shell includes an interior surface, and defines a plurality of first indentations in the interior surface. Each impeller blade in the plurality of impeller blades including a first tab disposed in a respective first indentation. The turbine is in fluid communication with the impeller and includes a turbine shell and turbine blades fixedly connected to the turbine shell. The first tab is fixedly secured to the impeller shell by a respective first portion of a material forming the impeller shell; or a respective first portion of a material forming the impeller shell contacts the first tab and overlaps the first tab in a first axial direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the torque converter.
TORQUE CONVERTER THRUST WASHER AND SEAL PLATE ASSEMBLY
A torque converter includes a front cover arranged to receive a torque and a damper assembly including an output flange arranged to non-rotatably connect to a transmission input shaft. The torque converter further includes a seal plate disposed between the front cover and the output flange. The seal plate is non-rotatably connected to the cover. The torque converter further includes a thrust washer including a body axially disposed between the seal plate and the output flange. The thrust washer is fixed to the seal plate.
TORQUE CONVERTER THRUST WASHER AND SEAL PLATE ASSEMBLY
A torque converter includes a front cover arranged to receive a torque and a damper assembly including an output flange arranged to non-rotatably connect to a transmission input shaft. The torque converter further includes a seal plate disposed between the front cover and the output flange. The seal plate is non-rotatably connected to the cover. The torque converter further includes a thrust washer including a body axially disposed between the seal plate and the output flange. The thrust washer is fixed to the seal plate.
TORQUE CONVERTER INCLUDING FRONT COVER FLUID FLOW BAFFLES
A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a front cover including a front radially extending section and a front axially extending section extending axially from an outer radial end of the front radially extending section. The torque converter also includes a plurality of baffle assemblies each including a base connected to the front radially extending section and a support connected to the base. Each of the baffle assemblies includes a first baffle and a second baffle extending radially inward from the respective support. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided. The method includes providing a plurality of baffle assemblies each including a base, a support connected to the base and a first baffle and a second baffle extending from the support; and fixing the bases of the baffle assemblies to a radially extending section of the front cover such that the first and second baffles extend radially inward from the respective support.
TORQUE CONVERTER INCLUDING EXTENDED IMPELLER SHELL FOR CONNECTING TO ENGINE DRIVE PLATE
A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a front cover and an impeller shell including an axially extending section fixed to the front cover. The impeller shell includes a connector on the axially extending section. The connector is configured for connecting to an engine drive plate assembly. A method for forming a torque converter is also provided. The method includes providing connector on an axially extending section of an impeller shell, the connector being configured for connecting to an engine drive plate assembly; and fixing the axially extending section to a front cover.
Method of correcting bend of joint type-turbine rotor
According to an embodiment, a method of correcting a bend of a joint type-turbine rotor comprises: measuring displacement of a convex portion of the bend at a joined portion of the joint type-turbine rotor or displacement of a surface opposite to the convex portion in a circumferential direction of the joint type-turbine rotor; heating the convex portion; and cooling the joined portion after the step of heating. The steps of heating and cooling are performed during the step of measuring.
Method of correcting bend of joint type-turbine rotor
According to an embodiment, a method of correcting a bend of a joint type-turbine rotor comprises: measuring displacement of a convex portion of the bend at a joined portion of the joint type-turbine rotor or displacement of a surface opposite to the convex portion in a circumferential direction of the joint type-turbine rotor; heating the convex portion; and cooling the joined portion after the step of heating. The steps of heating and cooling are performed during the step of measuring.

The core ring includes an annular base portion including a convex blade side surface portion and a concave stator side surface portion and a wrapped outer diameter portion including an outwardly extending lip protruding radially outward from the annular base portion. A method of forming a torque core ring for an impeller or turbine of a torque converter is also provided. The method includes forming a wrapped outer diameter portion including an outwardly extending protrusion protruding radially outward from an annular base portion including a convex blade side surface portion and a concave stator side surface portion. A torque converter including the core ring is also provided.

The front cover includes a radially extending section and an axially extending section extending axially from an outer radial end of the radially extending section. The torque converter also includes a rear cover. The rear cover includes a rear radially extending section and a rear axially extending section extending axially from an outer radial end of the rear radially extending section. The torque converter also includes a plurality of baffles connected to the front cover. Each of the baffles includes a first tab connected to the axially extending section of the front cover. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided.
