Torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus
A torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus is capable of securely sealing a space housing an elastic member even on application of a centrifugal force or at the time of cooling. The torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus includes a center plate, a side plate(s) (side plate assembly) coaxial with the center plate and slidably relative to the center plate, and an elastic member housed within a space delimited by the side plate assembly to absorb torque fluctuations between the side plate assembly and the center plate. The apparatus also includes a cover member secured to the center plate and slidably pressure contacted with the side plate assembly to cover from outside a space housing the elastic member, and a suppressing section capable of suppressing the cover member from deforming under a pressure acting on the cover member when atmospheric pressure within the space housing the elastic member(s) becomes lower than outside atmospheric pressure.
Hydrokinetic torque coupling device having turbine-piston lockup clutch, and related methods
A hydrokinetic torque coupling device features an impeller, a casing having a first engagement surface, a damper assembly, a turbine-piston including a drive component with a second engagement surface, and a clutch plate having clutch plate engagement surfaces interposed between and axially movable relative to at least one of the first and second clutch plate engagement surfaces. The turbine-piston is axially displaceable relative to the casing to move the second engagement surface axially towards and away from the first engagement surface for positioning the hydrokinetic torque coupling device into and out of a lockup mode in which the first and second engagement surfaces and the clutch plate engagement surfaces frictionally interlock with one another to non-rotatably lock the casing relative to the input part of the damper assembly.
Torque converter and hydrokinetic torque coupling device having turbine-piston lockup clutch with lockup resistance member
A torque converter includes an impeller, a turbine-piston hydrodynamically drivable by the impeller, a stator, and an annular lockup resistance member. The impeller includes an impeller shell. The turbine-piston includes a turbine-piston shell. The turbine-piston shell includes a turbine-piston flange having a first flange surface facing an engagement surface of the impeller shell. The turbine-piston is movable axially toward and away from the engagement surface to position the torque converter into and out of a lockup mode in which the turbine-piston flange is mechanically locked to the impeller shell. The annular lockup resistance member is in the form of an annular elastomeric sandwich washer coaxially aligned with the rotational axis and including turbine-side and stator-side members, and an elastomeric inner member sandwiched between the turbine-side and stator-side members.
Hydrokinetic torque coupling device with turbine-piston lock-up clutch and bevel gearing
A hydrokinetic torque coupling device for coupling together a driving shaft and a driven shaft. The torque coupling device includes a casing rotatable about a rotational axis and having a casing cover shell and an impeller shell, an impeller coaxial aligned with the rotational axis and including the impeller shell, a turbine-piston coaxially aligned with and drivable by the impeller, a stator situated between the impeller and the turbine-piston, an output member including an output bevel gear, a torsional vibration damper operatively connecting the turbine-piston and the output hub, a rotatable input bevel gear drivenly connected to the torsional vibration damper, a carrier configured to connect to a stationary stator shaft, and a bevel pinion supported by and rotatable relative to the carrier. The bevel pinion meshes with gear teeth of the input bevel gear and gear teeth of the output bevel gear of the output member.
Vibration damping device
A vibration damping device having improved air-tightness of a chamber holding a rolling mass in an oscillatable manner is provided. A cover member that covers an oscillating range of the rolling mass liquid-tightly or air-tightly comprises a first flange and a second flange. The first flange is pushed onto one of lateral faces of a holding member by a first pushing member fitted onto a rotary member while being prevented to move axially to seal a clearance between the holding member and the first flange by a first sealing member. The second flange is pushed onto the other lateral face of the holding member by a second pushing member fitted onto the rotary member while being prevented to move axially to seal a clearance between the holding member and the second flange by a second sealing member.
CVT DRIVE TRAIN
A CVT drive train including an input drive, a torque converter is downstream from the input drive in a power flow direction and contained within a torque converter housing, the torque converter serving as a starting element. A disconnect clutch is contained within the torque converter housing along with a converter bridging clutch. A continuously variable variator is operatively connected to and arranged downstream from the torque converter, and a rotation reversing device is downstream of the variator to enable a shift between a neutral position of the drive train and one of a forward driving position and a reverse driving position.
HYDROKINETIC TORQUE COUPLING DEVICE HAVING TURBINE-PISTON LOCK-UP CLUTCH, AND RELATED METHODS
A hydrokinetic torque coupling device for coupling together a driving shaft and a driven shaft features a casing including a casing shell and an impeller casing shell, an impeller including the impeller shell, a turbine-piston including a turbine-piston shell, and an elastic element slidably engaging the turbine-piston and being connected to the casing. The elastic element is configured to bias the turbine-piston toward the impeller. The casing is rotatable about a rotational axis so that the impeller shell is disposed axially opposite to and fixedly connected to the casing shell. The turbine-piston is coaxially aligned with and hydro-dynamically drivable by the impeller.
Vehicular fluid power transmitting device
