A system for and method of separating oil from crankcase air is provided. The system includes replacing a standard shaft, such as a water pump shaft, with a breather shaft of the present invention and venting crankcase air through the breather shaft to an outside volume of air, such as in an air box. The breather shaft includes a centrifuge positioned within an interior volume of the crankcase and a first portion extending from the centrifuge through a wall of the crankcase. The centrifuge defines a plurality of inlet passageways extending from an outer surface of the centrifuge towards an interior area of the centrifuge. The first portion of the breather shaft defines a venting passageway extending from the interior area of the centrifuge to a vent opening at a distal end of the breather shaft.

Vehicle having an air-cooled continuously variable transmission

A vehicle has an engine; a drive pulley connected to and driven by a crankshaft of the engine; a driven pulley; an output shaft connected to and driven by the driven pulley; a belt looped around the pulleys; and a cover connected to the engine. The cover and the engine define a volume therebetween. A baffle disposed in the volume separates the volume in first and second chambers. The first chamber is disposed between the baffle and the engine. The second chamber is disposed between the baffle and the cover. The pulleys are disposed in the second chamber. The baffle defines first and second apertures fluidly communicating the first chamber with the second chamber. An air inlet is fluidly connected to the first chamber. An air outlet is fluidly connected to the second chamber.

A steering device includes: a rack shaft; a rack housing; a pinion shaft that meshes with the rack shaft; a speed reducer having a worm wheel that is coupled to the pinion shaft and a worm shaft that meshes with the worm wheel; a speed reducer housing; a motor that drives the worm shaft; a plate-shaped cover that seals an opening of the speed reducer housing; and a breather valve that is mounted on the cover in a state of penetrating through the cover. An inner surface of the cover that faces the worm wheel has an entry restricting part that restricts entry of a lubricant into the breather valve.

Power unit

A power unit includes a prime mover and a belt continuously variable transmission. The belt continuously variable transmission includes a drive pulley, a driven pulley, a belt wound around the drive pulley and the driven pulley, and a housing forming an accommodation space in which the belt is disposed. The belt continuously variable transmission changes a speed of rotation produced by drive power output from the prime mover. The power unit further includes a temperature sensor configured to detect a temperature of the belt or a temperature corresponding to the temperature of the belt.

Drive unit for vehicles

A drive unit for vehicles that prevents a blow out of lubrication oil from a breather during splash lubrication is provided. A partition plate is disposed along a flat face of a ring gear to divide an inner space of the chamber into a first reservoir in which the ring gear is disposed, and a second reservoir to which the lubrication oil partially flows thereinto to return to an oil pan. The partition plate comprises a main body disposed between the flat face of the ring gear and an inner face of the chamber opposed thereto, and a bent portion formed on an upper end of the main body to guide the lubrication oil scattered upwardly by a rotation of the ring gear in a direction away from the breather.
