The coating portion contains at least a binder resin and a thermoplastic elastomer.
Secondary lubrication for gears and gearboxes
A solid lubricant-carrying gear which is lubricated by a liquid lubricant communicated to the gear by a primary lubrication system includes a gear body and a solid lubricant body. The gear body is arranged along a rotation axis and has a first surface, an axially opposite second surface, and an outward radial face extending about the rotation axis having gear teeth and lubricant directing features. The solid lubricant body is coupled to the gear body and includes a lubricant which melts at a melting temperature above that of the liquid lubricant to provide secondary lubrication to the gear via the lubricant directing features. Gearboxes, aircraft having transmissions employing solid lubricant-carrying gears, and methods of lubricating gears are also described.

A tooth surface of an internal tooth of the internal gear has a convex pattern including a first convex part and a second convex part extending in a first direction having a component along the rotation axis and arranged side by side in a second direction crossing the first direction, and 10≤D≤40 and S−D≤20, wherein D [μm] is an average particle diameter of the graphite particles and S [μm] is a separation distance between the first convex part and the second convex part in the second direction.
HYBRID-ADDITIVE GEAR FOR A WIND TURBINE GEARBOX
A method for manufacturing a planet gear or a sun gear of a gearbox of a wind turbine includes forming a base of the planet gear via at least one of casting or forging. The base of the planet gear includes an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface. Therefore, at least one of the inner circumferential surface or the outer circumferential surface of the planet gear includes a plurality of net or near-net gear teeth. The method also includes applying a coating material to at least a portion of the base of the gear and at least a portion of the plurality of gear teeth of the gear via an additive manufacturing process so as to increase a hardness of the portions of the base and the plurality of gear teeth that includes the coating material.
AXIAL DISPLACEMENT AMPLIFIED EDDY CURRENT DAMPER
An axial displacement amplified eddy current damper is disclosed. The axial movement of a slide bar is converted into the rotation of copper sheets and generates eddy current for energy consumption. The copper sheets are rotated and amplified by adjusting the sizes of gears. The short displacement of the slide bar can cause a large angle rotation of the copper sheets, so that energy consumption efficiency is high. The damping parameter can be adjusted by adjusting the magnetic field strength of permanent magnets, the thickness of the copper sheets and the distance from the copper sheets to the permanent magnets. The permanent magnets are adopted to provide continuous magnetic field sources, without external energy, thereby generating long-term and stable vibration reduction effect.

BICYCLE LUBRICANT
A bicycle chain lubricant that may be applied as a coating on a bicycle chain is a crystalline solid at ambient temperatures, yet when the chain is in motion the forces around internal components locally transforms the coating to a lubricous fluid. This increases chain efficiency in the drive train and reduces ware by limiting water and dirt access to chain internal components.
CHAIN DRIVE SYSTEM
An object of the present invention is to provide a chain drive system capable of reducing sliding resistance between a chain and a guide shoe, suppressing an increase, over time, in sliding resistance, and reducing wear on the guide shoe. A chain drive system according to the present invention includes a chain having a plurality of chain plates, a plurality of sprockets on which the chain is wound, and one or more guides each including, integrally or separately, a guide shoe having a chain-running surface, and slidably guiding, in presence of lubricating oil, the chain. At least one of the plurality of chain plates has a lubricant region retaining a solid lubricant.
