LUBRICANT SYSTEM
A lubricant system for supplying lubrication to a component in a turbine engine includes a lubricant reservoir, a supply line fluidly coupling the lubricant reservoir to the component in the turbine engine, a scavenge line fluidly coupling the component to the lubricant reservoir, and a bypass line fluidly coupling the supply line to the scavenge line and bypassing the component.
PTO LUBRICATION SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLES
A vehicle drive system includes a first prime mover, a transmission, a power take-off (PTO), a lubrication system for the transmission and the PTO, and a control system. The transmission is powered by the first prime mover. The transmission is configured to rotate a drive shaft of the vehicle. The PTO is connected to the transmission at a first interface. The PTO includes the first interface and a second interface. The control system is configured to control fluid flow through the lubrication system for at least one mode where the input section of the PTO is stationary and the output section rotates.
Thermal management of a vehicle transmission
A transmission is subject to thermal management to prevent damage or failure due to overheating. Sensors can be employed to capture characteristics of a transmission, such as fluid temperature or pressure. Further, a predictive model can be invoked to predict characteristics based on current and future conditions. Characteristics can be compared with a threshold for intervention. A thermal mitigation strategy can be generated and initiated when characteristics satisfy the threshold. The thermal mitigation strategy can specify various actions to dissipate heat, including altering shift control logic and triggering mechanical devices that can increase airflow, reduce air temperature, or both surrounding the transmission.
ELECTRIC DRIVE UNIT WITH GEAR SHAFT AND ROTOR SHAFT
An electric drive unit and method of assembling the same is disclosed. The electric drive unit includes a rotor having a rotor shaft, and gear shaft, where the rotor shaft is inserted into the gear shaft. The gear shaft is supported by two bearings, while the rotor shaft supported directly at one end by a bearing and at the other by the gear shaft. A wave spring is also disclosed that provides an axial loading to the rotor shaft. Also disclosed is a balancing ring secured to an end of the rotor via a locknut. The balancing ring can be machined in order to balance the rotor. The rotor shaft can be connected to the gear shaft via a spline connection. The rotor shaft can bear against the gear shaft via a pilot journal and pilot bore defined on the rotor shaft and gear shaft respectively.
Gearmotor for automotive vehicle wiper system
The invention relates to a geared motor (1) for a motor-vehicle wiping system comprising an electric motor (2) comprising a rotor (20) including magnetic elements, a stator (21) having the electromagnetic excitation windings of the rotor, a rotary shaft (22) rigidly connected to the rotor, a reduction gear (3) linking the rotary shaft (22) and an output shaft of the geared motor, a casing (4) forming a protective envelope for said reduction gear, or the electric motor (2), and in which said reduction gear (3) includes a worm screw and worm wheel gear, the worm screw (30) being rigidly connected to the rotary shaft of the rotor (22), the worm wheel (31) rigidly connected to an output shaft (8) of the geared motor, bearing means (23, 24) for guiding the rotary shaft of the rotor (22) in rotation in relation to the casing (4), and potentially, a determination device for determining the angular position of the rotor including a multi-pole magnet (5) that is rigidly connected to the rotary shaft (22) of the rotor (20).
Vehicle having controller configured to change an operating point of a traveling electric motor
A vehicle includes a gear mechanism connected to a driving wheel; a traveling electric motor configured to exchange heat with a heat exchange medium shared by the gear mechanism and output motive power to the driving wheel via the gear mechanism; and a controller configured to change an operating point of the traveling electric motor to a stronger field side rather than a maximum efficiency point in a case that a temperature of the heat exchange medium is less than a predetermined temperature.
Eco-friendly vehicle and transmission hydraulic pressure control method for the same
An eco-friendly vehicle and a transmission hydraulic pressure control method for the same are provided. The vehicle includes an oil pump that estimates an inner temperature without using a temperature sensor. The method includes determining a driver request output and determining a required hydraulic pressure corresponding to the request output. A temperature of an oil pump unit is estimated to operate an electric oil pump to supply a hydraulic pressure to a transmission, based on the required hydraulic pressure and driving status information. An output torque is then adjusted based on the estimated temperature.
Electric drive with cooling
An electric drive can comprise a housing assembly; an electric machine with a hollow shaft; a planetary gearing; and a power distribution unit having an input part and two output parts, the input part being connected to the planet carrier, one of the output parts being connected to an intermediate shaft extending through the hollow shaft; wherein the housing assembly comprises a motor-sided first housing part, a gearing-sided second housing part, and an intermediate housing part disposed therebetween, wherein the intermediate housing part includes, integrally formed, an intermediate wall, a motor-side jacket portion and a gearing-side jacket portion, wherein a sealed cavity for a coolant flowing therethrough is formed between an outer face of the motor-side jacket portion and the inner face of the first gearing part.
Oil tank for geared turbofan engine
An oil delivery system is provided that includes a tank for a gas turbine engine, where the tank is positioned radially outward from a compressor section, a combustor section, and/or a turbine section of the gas turbine engine. The tank is configured to store oil for the gas turbine engine. The oil delivery system further includes a primary lubrication system including a sump of a power gearbox, a pump, and an oil feed line. The oil feed line extends from the tank to the primary lubrication system. The oil feed line is configured to allow a flow of oil to pass from the tank to the pump and from the pump through the power gearbox to the sump of the power gearbox.
Torque converter with sealed turbine shell and clutch cooling
A hybrid module for a hybrid vehicle is disclosed. The hybrid module has two clutches located radially inward of an electric motor, and in their own respective fluid chamber. Fluid from one chamber can cool one of the clutches. Then the fluid can travel axially to the other chamber to cool the other clutch. The hybrid module can include a wall assembly between the two clutches, separating the fluid chambers. After the fluid cools both clutches, the fluid is directed to the wall assembly, and passes through two walls, radially outwardly, to spray onto the electric motor to cool the motor.
