A controller drives a shifting actuator to move a first engagement member from an original position of a first engagement portion in one direction along a relative motion path and acquires first position information representing a first position, the first position being a position where the first engagement portion moved in the one direction contacts a second engagement portion. The controller drives the shifting actuator to move the first engagement member from the original position in the other direction along the relative motion path and acquires second position information representing a second position where the first engagement portion moved in the other direction contacts the second engagement portion. The controller calculates a center position of the first engagement portion on the relative motion path from the acquired first position information and the acquired second position information, compares the calculated center position to the original position.
Transmission shifting assistance device and shifting device for a motorcycle
A transmission shifting assistance device, in particular for a motorcycle, which allows shifting when the clutch is closed, includes a housing, a piston arranged in the housing, and at least one pressure spring provided in the housing. The piston may be moved relative to the housing by compressing at least one pressure spring. Furthermore, transmission shifting assistance device further includes a locking device separate from the at least one pressure spring. The locking device fixes the piston in a neutral position relative to the housing below a predetermined unlocking force exerted on the piston or the housing.

A shifting operation detecting apparatus includes a gearbox and a shift change apparatus. A gear-position learning device for an automatic clutch transmission includes a transmission configured to be shifted by an operation of a driver of a vehicle, a clutch device disposed in a transmission path between the transmission and an engine and configured to be connected and disconnected by actuation of a clutch actuator, a controller configured to control connection and disconnection of the clutch device performed by the clutch actuator, a shift drum configured to rotate according to a shift operation that the driver performs on a shift operator and switch the shift stage of the transmission, and a rotational position defining mechanism configured to define a rotational position of the shift drum, wherein the controller has a learning mode for learning a rotation angle of the shift drum and is configured to control connection and disconnection of the clutch device during the learning mode such that the shift drum is at a rotational position determined by the rotational position defining mechanism.

A shift device of a transmission includes: a cylindrical or columnar shift cam that is formed, at an outer circumferential surface of the shift cam, with a cam groove for operating a shift fork; a drive plate that oscillates by rotation of a shift pedal shaft; a shift cam plate that is fixed to one end portion of the shift cam and rotates the shift cam according to the oscillation of the drive plate; a shift cam sensor that detects a rotation angle of the shift cam; and a transmission shaft that transmits the rotation of the shift cam to the shift cam sensor, as defined herein.

There is provided a motorcycle. A crankshaft extends in a width direction of the motorcycle. An engine case pivotally supports the crankshaft. A counter shaft is arranged in parallel with the crankshaft. A clutch mechanism is arranged at one end of the counter shaft and configured to transmit and disconnect rotation of the crankshaft to and from the counter shaft. A clutch actuator performs a disconnection/connection operation of the clutch mechanism. A shift mechanism is arranged below the counter shaft and configured to shift and transmit the rotation of the crankshaft to a driving wheel. A shift actuator performs a shift operation of the shift mechanism. A generator is arranged at one end of the crankshaft. The clutch actuator and the shift actuator are arranged around a cover member mounted to the engine case and accommodating therein the clutch mechanism or the generator.

A shift signal transmitter for a manual transmission of a vehicle, in particular of a motorcycle, includes a shift rod for force-transmitting coupling to a foot lever, optionally with the interposition of an extension rod. The shift rod is guided along its longitudinal axis in an axially displaceable manner between two axial stops in an, in particular sleeve-shaped, housing. A connecting piece, which serves for coupling to a shift lever, is rigidly connected to the housing opposite to an internal axial end of the shift rod. A distance sensor for contact-free distance measurement is disposed within the housing opposite to the internal axial end of the shift rod and a sensor area of the distance sensor is oriented radially relative to the longitudinal axis. A shift apparatus for a manual transmission of a vehicle is also provided.
