Position detection device
A position detection device includes two detection systems that are respectively fed from power supply systems different from each other, and displace together with a shift lever. Each detection system can output detection patterns with four digits. A detection pattern when being located at a given position is different from a detection pattern when being located at another position. In any detection pattern, outputs of certain two digits among the four digits are set so as to be identical to each other, and to be different from outputs of two other digits. Alternatively, outputs of certain three digits among the four digits are set to be identical to each other, and to be different from an output of another digit.
Transmission-equipped vehicle
A controller drives a shifting actuator to move a first engagement member from an original position of a first engagement portion in one direction along a relative motion path and acquires first position information representing a first position, the first position being a position where the first engagement portion moved in the one direction contacts a second engagement portion. The controller drives the shifting actuator to move the first engagement member from the original position in the other direction along the relative motion path and acquires second position information representing a second position where the first engagement portion moved in the other direction contacts the second engagement portion. The controller calculates a center position of the first engagement portion on the relative motion path from the acquired first position information and the acquired second position information, compares the calculated center position to the original position.

Electromechanical shifting systems and methods
A wireless control system for a bicycle may include a base part attachable to a bicycle and a movable part. The control system may also include an electric motor disposed on the electromechanical component and a control unit disposed on the electromechanical component for operating the electric motor to operate the electromechanical component, the control unit including a wireless receiver. The control system includes a wake sensor connected to the control unit, the wake sensor configured to communicate a wake signal to the control unit.
Shift control apparatus of manual transmission
A shift control apparatus of a manual transmission is disclosed. To change the gear, the shift control apparatus of a manual transmission according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: a shift lever which is movable in a shift direction and in a select direction; a select lock unit which includes a shaft for limiting the select directional movement of the shift lever; and a controller which controls the select lock unit to limit the select directional movement of the shift lever on the basis of a speed of a vehicle. As a result, a driver can safely shift the gear by preventing unintended shifting to R gear and sense the state of a select lock. Also, the select lock unit is implemented by one solenoid, so that it is possible to reduce the cost thereof, to prevent the overheating of the solenoid, and thus, to extend the life span.

SHIFT-LEVER ASSEMBLY FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION
A shift-lever assembly for a manual transmission is provided. The assembly includes a rotary member that is rotatably coupled to a lower portion of a main rod and mounting portions that are connected to mount a shift cable to respective pieces of the rotary member. The rotary member is divided into the plurality of pieces. A shift shaft for a shift operation and a select shaft for a selecting operation are separated from each other to prevent the mounting portions, operated relative to each other during an operation of the main rod, from rotating.

MOTOR VEHICLE HAND CONTROL FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED INDIVIDUALS
A disclosed vehicle control system provides control over complex vehicle functions including transmission shifting to enable differently abled drivers to operate a motor vehicle.
ENHANCED NEUTRAL GEAR SENSOR
Embodiments provide systems and methods for determining a position of a gear shift lever of a vehicle. A ferromagnetic target object having selected characteristics influences a magnetic field generated by a back bias magnet. A magnetic field sensor includes magnetic field sensing elements disposed proximate to the target object. Each magnetic field sensing element generates an electronic signal in response to sensed magnetic fields. The gear shift lever moves among a plurality of gears of the vehicle. The magnetic field sensor selects a set of the magnetic field sensing elements to determine a magnetic field difference based on a difference of amplitudes between the electronic signals that is related to a current position of the gear shift lever. Characteristics of the target object enable the magnetic field sensor to detect the position of the gear shift lever. The characteristics include edges proximate to a perimeter of the target object.
