Belt drive system

A drive system for driving a belt is presented. The system comprises a frame, a driving shaft connected to a motor, a controller, a driven shaft, two pulleys connected to the driven and driving shafts, and a belt. The frame supports the driving and driven shafts to mount the belt on the pulleys. A signal element is mounted on and drives with the belt. At least two detection elements are mounted on the frame so that when the signal element passes the detection elements, a signal is generated as the belt moves. The detector elements are connected to a controller which controls the motor so that when the system starts, the belt moves until the signal element generates a signal in a first detector element to fix a zero point of the belt movement. The signal of the second detector element checks the zero point during normal drive operation.

A transmission includes an input shaft that couples to a prime mover, twin countershafts and a main shaft having gears coupled thereon, an output shaft that selectively provides a torque output to a driveline, a first shift actuator that selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft. The transmission includes a second shift actuator that couples the main shaft to the output shaft with a selected reduction ratio, and a controller including a vehicle state circuit that interprets at least one vehicle operating condition, and a neutral enforcement circuit that provides a first neutral command to the first shift actuator and a second neutral command to the second shift actuator, in response to the at least one vehicle operating condition indicating that vehicle motion is not intended.

System and method for neutral transmission hold

A method and system for vehicle control including detecting a change in a position of a transmission input interface to a neutral position indicating a transmission mode of the vehicle is shifted into a neutral gear. Responsive to receiving an input sequence at the transmission input interface, changing a neutral hold mode of the vehicle to active. The input sequence at the transmission input interface includes changing the position of the transmission input interface to a park position, holding the position of the transmission input interface at the park position for a predetermined length of time, and changing the position of the transmission input interface to the neutral position. Further, controlling the vehicle to maintain the neutral gear responsive to a change in a vehicle occupancy state while the neutral hold mode is active.

Control method for transmission of electric vehicle

A control method of a transmission of an electric vehicle provided with a transmission having a sleeve gear having an inclined chamfer on a first side of the sleeve gear and a flat chamfer on a second side of the sleeve gear, may include measuring a maximum movable stroke of a sleeve having the sleeve gear by moving the sleeve axially to both sides by a controller; determining a reference range to which the measured maximum stroke pertains from predetermined reference ranges by the controller; and determining and setting a neutral position of the sleeve using a predetermined determination method, depending on the determined reference range by the controller.

A vehicle power unit has a transmission apparatus including a transmission, and a transmission actuating mechanism including a speed reduction gear train having multiple speed reduction stages for transmitting power from a drive gear on a drive shaft of a shift motor to a driven gear on a drum turning shaft of a shift drum. The speed reduction gear train has a speed reduction ratio ranging from 23 to 45, and the shift motor is a DC electric motor that produces a pulsating cogging torque having a maximum value ranging from 0.04 to 0.07 Nm. The vehicle power unit enables the transmission actuating mechanism to be made up of a reduced number of parts and to be simple in structure, making the transmission apparatus small in size, and ensures quicker and smoother gear changes with an electric motor.

A method for determining an actuating-travel range between two shift-element halves of a form-locking shift element (A, F) during an engagement of the shift element (A, F) and in the presence of a tooth-on-tooth position between the two shift-element halves is provided. An actuating movement of the at least one movable shift-element half with respect to the other shift-element half is monitored by a sensor. A tooth-on-tooth position is detected when it is determined, by the sensor, within an actuating-travel range of the at least one movable shift-element half between a disengaged condition and an engaged condition of the shift element, that the actuating movement of the movable shift-element half in the engagement direction is zero. A ratio between an engagement force applied at the shift element and a radial force acting on the shift-element halves is within a value range, which facilitates a tooth-on-tooth position and an actuating movement of the shift-element half in the engagement direction is detected by the sensor after the reduction of the engagement force and/or after an increase of the applied torque.
