Systems and methods are provided for controlling a transmission associated with a vehicle. The method includes receiving a neutral range selection for the transmission, and receiving a temperature and a pressure of a lubricant associated with the transmission. The method includes receiving a speed of an input shaft associated with the transmission, and determining, by a processor, based on the temperature and the speed of the input shaft, a pressure threshold value for the lubricant. The method includes outputting, by the processor, one or more control signals to command the transmission to a one clutch neutral state in which one clutch of a plurality of clutches associated with the transmission is engaged based on a comparison of the pressure threshold value to the pressure of the lubricant.

The vehicle control module engages a reverse gear at a drive sprocket in response to the reverse signal, the wheel speed and transmission gear position and controls the drive sprocket assembly in response to the clutch lever.

A system and method for operating the same includes a drive sprocket assembly, a clutch lever, a user interface generating a reverse signal at a user interface, a wheel speed sensor generating a wheel speed signal, a transmission position sensor generating a transmission position signal and a vehicle control module receiving the reverse signal, the wheel speed signal and the transmission position signal. The vehicle control module engages a reverse gear at a drive sprocket in response to the reverse signal, the wheel speed and transmission gear position and controls the drive sprocket assembly in response to the clutch lever.

The present invention realizes a vehicle control device that, even when power characteristics of a power generation device and a power transmission device changes, senses degradation of vehicle components, corrects a drive instruction to the power transmission device, and is thereby capable of stabilizing vehicle behavior over a long term. The present invention, in a predetermined vehicle environment state, measures fluctuation in drive power and acceleration in a transient region by using vehicle behavior sensors 4, performs comparison with a reference fluctuation, and thereby senses degradation of vehicle components. The drive instruction to the transmission 16-side is corrected in accordance with the degradation of vehicle components that is sensed. Thus, it is possible to stabilize vehicle behavior (performance) over a long term even when, during automated driving, the power characteristics of the drive power source and the transmission 16 change due to factors such as time degradation of vehicle components.
