CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME
A control device of controlling a vehicle that includes an automatic transmission is provided with a control unit. The automatic transmission includes a power transmission mechanism with an engaging element, and a variator connected in series to the power transmission mechanism. The control unit of this device completes engagement of the engaging element after downshifting of the variator is completed when at least an accelerator pedal opening becomes not smaller than a predetermined opening, during neutral running control which brings the power transmission mechanism into a power shut-off state during running of the vehicle.
GEAR SHIFT CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE TRANSMISSION AND GEAR SHIFT CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE TRANSMISSION
In gear-shift control apparatus and method for a vehicular transmission, a variator which is interposed between an engine and driving wheels and which is capable of modifying a gear (speed) ratio continuously; a sub transmission which is installed in series with the variator and which is capable of switching a plurality of gear-shift stages through a replacement of engagement elements; and a transmission controller which performs a gear ratio control for the variator and a gear-shift stage control for the sub transmission are installed. During a deceleration through a second speed stage of the sub transmission, when the variator is a state in which the variator is at a lowest gear (speed) ratio, a down-shift in which the sub transmission is forced to perform the gear-shift from a second speed stage to a first speed stage, with the variator maintained at the lowest gear (speed) ratio.
TECHNIQUES FOR BLENDING IN MECHANICAL FRICTION BRAKES DURING DECLERATION FOR HYBRID VEHICLE WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR MECHANICALLY COUPLED TO TRANSMISSION GEARS
An electrified vehicle includes a transmission having shiftable gears, an electric motor coupled for common therewith, and a synchronizer controllable for coupling the transmission to a driveline; friction brakes; a control system including a hybrid control unit, a brake control unit and a transmission control unit, wherein the hybrid control unit functions as a supervisory controller over the transmission control unit and the brake control unit and wherein the hybrid control unit is configured to coordinate control among the transmission control unit and brake control unit to compensate for unavailability of electric motor regeneration torque during an upcoming transmission gear shift event and blend in the friction brakes to provide a continuous and smooth deceleration of the electrified vehicle during the transmission shift event.
Transmission with L1-L2 shift method while engine braking
A transmission includes a stationary member, an input member, and gear sets each having a plurality of nodes. The transmission includes a first clutch that connects a node of one gear set to the stationary member to establish an L1 mode, and a second clutch that connects a node of another gear set to the stationary member to establish a 2L mode. A SOWC is connected between nodes of two gear sets, and a controller, in response to a requested shift L1-L2 shift while engine braking, executes a method to release the first clutch and thereby enters a neutral mode. The SOWC is released when slip across the first clutch exceeds a first threshold, then the first clutch reapplied when a SOWC slip level exceeds another threshold to thereby enter a 1.sup.st gear freewheeling mode. The second clutch is reapplied to enter the L2 mode and resume engine braking.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE AND VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD
A vehicle control device for controlling a vehicle includes a drive source and an automatic transmission connected to the drive source and including a variator. The vehicle control device includes: a first control unit configured to execute a during-travel drive source stop control for stopping the drive source and shifting the automatic transmission in a neutral state if a during-travel drive source stop condition is satisfied; and a second control unit configured to execute a during-travel drive source stop release control for shifting the automatic transmission in a power transmission state via a rotation synchronization control in the automatic transmission set in the neutral state if a during-travel drive source stop release condition is satisfied. The second control unit executes the rotation synchronization control with the variator downshifted from a speed ratio during the during-travel drive source stop control if the during-travel drive source stop release condition accompanied by a downshifting request of the variator is satisfied.

A method for operating a drivetrain of a motor vehicle includes elevating a system pressure acting on a plurality of shift elements (A, B, C, D, E, F) when one of at least one positively locking shift element (A, F) is closed in a force-locking-free state, increasing a torque output by a drive assembly (15) and then subsequently reducing the torque output by the drive assembly (15) while the system pressure is elevated by an intervention with the drive assembly (15), and reducing the system pressure after reducing the torque output by the drive assembly (15). The one of the at least one positively locking shift element (A, F) closed in the force-locking-free state or another one of the at least one positively locking shift element (A, F) is opened while the system pressure is elevated and the torque output by the drive assembly (15) changes.
