CLUTCH CONNECTION/DISCONNECTION DEVICE FOR DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION
20170227073 · 2017-08-10 ·

A clutch-side transmission circuit transmits, from a clutch pedal, a restoring action of the depressed clutch pedal. A switching device connects a first clutch-side hydraulic circuit to the pedal-side hydraulic circuit when a shift lever SL is tilted forwards and connects a second clutch-side hydraulic circuit to the pedal-side hydraulic circuit when the shift lever SL is tilted rearwards. A first clutch is engaged in response to the restoring action of the clutch pedal being transmitted from the first clutch-side transmission circuit. A second clutch is engaged in response to the restoring action of the clutch pedal being transmitted from the second clutch-side transmission circuit.

Transmission calibration tool

A transmission calibration tool automatically generates a detailed gearbox model based on a user input transmission topology description. During transmission calibration, the tool accepts inputs from transmission speed and torque sensors and estimates component torques for each gear element and each shift element. Following a shift or other transmission event, the calibration tool plots the component torques as a function of time, permitting the calibration engineer to better understand what is occurring during the event, and thus reducing the time required for calibration. The calibration tool also adapts several transmission component models and outputs the adapted models to provide insight into actual transmission component behavior.

Gear engagement method for a hybrid vehicle
09816608 · 2017-11-14 · ·

A gear engagement method for a hybrid vehicle includes detecting whether or not baulking occurs when a controller attempts to engage a target gear via a synchronizer. The gear engagement method also includes checking, by the controller, for a stationary state of the vehicle if the result of the detecting shows that there is baulking. The gear engagement method also includes engaging, by the controller via the synchronizer, a different gear that shares a same input shaft with the target gear if the result of the checking shows that the vehicle is in a stationary state. The gear engagement method also includes reattempting an engagement with the target gear after disengaging the different gear. The disengaging and the reattempting are performed by the controller via the synchronizer after the engaging.

METHOD TO IDENTIFY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LUBRICATION OIL FLOW RATES CORRESPONDING TO A RUNNING VEHICLE WITHOUT DIRECT OIL FLOW MEASUREMENTS
20170261047 · 2017-09-14 ·

A method of determining automatic transmission lubrication fluid flow rates corresponding to a running vehicle without direct oil flow measurements is disclosed. A set of in-vehicle clutch torques for a chosen clutch pack during a gear shift event for a set of shift conditions is obtained. A series of bench tests at various clutch-pack clearances and oil-flow rates for the set of shift conditions are performed. The clearances and oil-flow rates are adjusted in response to the measured magnitudes exceeding thresholds. In-vehicle transmission lubrication oil-flow rates are estimated at the chosen clutch pack for the set of shift conditions when the bench-test and in-vehicle clutch torques are less than the thresholds. The steps are reproduced for other engine conditions and fluid temperatures corresponding to other transmission gear positions. A functional map of in-vehicle oil flow rates are produced, and the transmission is adjusted based on the map.
