A power transmission apparatus of a hybrid electric vehicle may include a first shaft fixedly connected to an engine, a second shaft selectively connectable to the first shaft and fixedly connected to a motor-generator, a third shaft disposed on a same axis with the first shaft and selectively connectable to the second shaft, a fourth shaft disposed coaxially with the third shaft without rotational interference therebetween, a fifth shaft disposed in parallel with the third and fourth shafts and externally gear-meshed with the third and fourth shafts, a planetary gear set having three elements, one element being fixedly connected to the second shaft, another element being selectively connectable to a transmission housing, and a remaining element being fixedly connected to the fourth shaft, and four gear sets forming gear engagements between the first shaft, the second shaft, the third shaft, the fourth shaft and the fifth shaft.

A coupling arrangement for coupling members as a gear change coupling in a gear mechanism unit includes a first member and a second member. The first member has a coupling toothing system. At least one locking body arrangement is mounted pivotably on the second member. The locking body arrangement can be pivoted into a coupling position, in the case of which a driving section on the locking body arrangement engages into the coupling toothing system. The locking body arrangement can be pivoted into a release position, in the case of which the driving section of the locking body arrangement does not engage into the coupling toothing system. The locking body arrangement has a locking body carrier which is mounted pivotably on the second member, and has a locking body member which is mounted pivotably on the locking body carrier and on which the driving section is configured.
High efficiency, high output transmission having improvements to support bearing reliability and efficiency
A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. An integrated actuator housing is operationally coupled to the shift actuator and a linear clutch actuator. The linear clutch actuator is a self-adjusting actuator, and the transmission includes a self-adjusting clutch.

A multiple speed transmission includes an input member, an output member, first, second, third and fourth planetary gearsets each having first, second and third members, and a plurality of interconnecting members each connected between at least one of the first, second, third, and fourth planetary gearsets and at least another of the first, second, third, and fourth planetary gearsets. The transmission includes a plurality of torque-transmitting mechanisms between the input and output members, wherein the torque transmitting mechanisms are selectively engageable in combinations of at least four to establish at least ten forward speed ratios between the input member and the output member.

A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. An integrated actuator housing is operationally coupled to the shift actuator and a linear clutch actuator. The linear clutch actuator is a self-adjusting actuator, and the transmission includes a self-adjusting clutch.

System, method, and apparatus for managing transmission shutdown operations
A transmission includes an input shaft that couples to a prime mover, twin countershafts and a main shaft having gears coupled thereon, an output shaft that selectively provides a torque output to a driveline, a first shift actuator that selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft. The transmission includes a second shift actuator that couples the main shaft to the output shaft with a selected reduction ratio, and a controller including a vehicle state circuit that interprets at least one vehicle operating condition, and a neutral enforcement circuit that provides a first neutral command to the first shift actuator and a second neutral command to the second shift actuator, in response to the at least one vehicle operating condition indicating that vehicle motion is not intended.
