Cupseal for compressor and method for preparing the same
The subject application relates to a cupseal for a compressor and method for preparing the same. Systems and methods are disclosed that include providing an annular seal for a compressor. The annular seal includes a substantially planar first portion, a first angled portion extending at an angle from the substantially planar first portion, and a second angled portion extending radially at an angle from the first angled portion. The annular seal is formed from a fluorinated polymer and includes at least one additive or filler. The annular seal exhibits reduced wear and an increased lifespan.

COATED PISTON RING FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A piston ring with a coated outer surface is provided. The coating is disposed on end sections of the outer surface adjacent a gap. Typically, a middle section of the outer surface located between the end sections is not coated. The coating can be formed of CrN or DLC, and the CrN coating can be applied by physical vapor deposition (PVD). The end sections of the outer surface, upon which the coating is applied, are rough. For example, the outer surface can be blasted or otherwise textured to achieve the rough surface. The rough surface retains oil and distributes stress better than a smooth surface, and thus reduces crazing and flaking of the coating.
Split ring seal for gas turbine engine rotor
A gas turbine engine rotor assembly, comprising: a shaft about an axis having an outer surface radially outward and a groove radially into the outer surface; a disc surrounding the shaft rotatable with the shaft about the axis, the disc having an inner surface extending axially defining an inner diameter, having a disc profile around the groove and axially away from and radially inwardly of the inner diameter, the shaft and the disc defining a gap circumscribed outwardly by the inner diameter and inwardly by the outer surface; and a seal including a split ring fitted into the groove and rotatable with the shaft about the axis, the ring having a ring profile complementary to the disc profile, the ring resiliently expandable radially in the gap to the inner diameter, the disc profile cooperable with the ring profile to axially load the shaft via the ring expanded across the gap.

Joining support jig
A joining support jig includes: a cylinder support for supporting a cylinder; an annular body support for supporting an annular body; and a plurality of movable members that can approach or separate from the cylinder. Each of the plurality of movable members extends from the cylinder side to the annular body side and across an abutment surface between the cylinder and the annular body in the thickness direction of the movable member. Further, the movable members are each formed with a gas supply groove that is depressed in the direction away from the cylinder and has an opening opposing the abutment surface.
Metallic ring for sealing a downhole rotary steering piston
Rotary steerable drilling systems are subjected to harsh environments including high temperature and pressure. A metallic seal ring prevents or limits erosive wear by limiting the velocity of the fluid that traversers from the high pressure side of the metallic seal ring to the low pressure side of the metallic seal ring to a value that can be sustained by the material of the metallic seal ring. A metallic seal ring is capable of withstand the wear and tear of drilling mud or other fluids used for downhole drilling operations. A metallic seal ring includes a mating configuration that creates a seal as the metallic seal ring is contracted when or a tension is applied when disposed or positioned in the piston bore. The metallic seal ring maintains an adequate seal to protect the components of a pad assembly over the life or specified duration of a downhole drilling operation.
Piston ring
A piston ring, and in particular a compression piston ring, has a running face, upper and lower flank regions, an inner circumferential surface and a joint, wherein at least the running face is provided with at least one wear-resistant PVD or CVD layer, wherein the PVD or CVD layer extends at a predefinable layer thickness across a circumferential length of more than 95%, but less than 100% of the piston ring, and defined circumferential sections are designed in a layer-free manner in the region of the joint.
