Inflatable Seal
An inflatable seal includes an annular body made of elastic material. The inflatable seal includes a chamber disposed in the annular body. The inflatable seal includes a fixing end and a movable end opposite to the fixing end in a cross section. The inflatable seal further includes first and second sides interconnected between the fixing end and the movable end and opposite to each other. The fixing end includes an annular lining disposed in the annular body. The sealing ability of the inflatable seal is improved in the axial direction and the radial direction.

PNEUMATIC STANDSTILL SHAFT SEAL
A standstill seal prevents leakage of a process fluid when a shaft is not rotating. The seal includes a flexible band surrounding the shaft that includes a thick, substantially rectangular center region from which thinner side regions extend. Application of pressurized control fluid to a rear surface of the band causes the central region to extend through a gap between cover plates to form a seal with the shaft or an intermediate structure. Depressurizing of the control fluid causes the central region to be withdrawn from the shaft, either entirely due to elasticity of the band, or with the assistance of springs. In various embodiments, the seal is formed radially inward or axially. The side regions can be substantially flat or curved. The standstill seal can be unitary with a rotating shaft seal, and can be upstream or downstream thereof. The control fluid can be the process fluid.
AGITATOR ASSEMBLY
An agitator assembly includes an agitator body, a shaft and a blocking part. The shaft is assembled to the agitator body and extends through a lead-through in the agitator body into the vessel, when assembled for use, and includes a sealing to seal the rotatable shaft. The blocking part arranged at the agitator body and including a shaft opening through which the shaft is arranged to extend, a mating surface to mate with the shaft which, when brought together by axial movement of the blocking part, provides a seal between the blocking part and the shaft, and the mating surface arranged at an axial distance from the sealing in the lead-through, and when brought together by the axial movement of the blocking part, provides a seal between the blocking part and the agitator body, and that the blocking part provides a closed space around the lead-through in the agitator body.
SHUT-OFF DEVICE FOR SEALING A SHAFT OF A ROTARY MACHINE AND ROTARY MACHINE
A shut-off device includes a housing, a central passage extending in an axial direction to surround the shaft, a ring-shaped first disk, a ring-shaped second disk arranged in the housing and parallel with and spaced apart from the ring-shaped first disk in the axial direction, and an expandable annular seal having a first side wall, a second side wall and an elastic bottom, the first side wall and the second side wall each extending in a radial direction, and the bottom connecting a radially inner end of the first side wall with a radially inner end of the second side wall, and the housing includes an inlet for a fluid to expand the seal, the first side wall of the seal arranged and clamped between the housing and the first disk and the second side wall of the seal arranged and clamped between the housing and the second disk.
EMERGENCY SEAL
The invention relates to an emergency seal 20 intended to be used on a watercraft 18. The emergency seal comprises a radially inner surface 22 suitable for resting on the radially outer surface 52 of a drive shaft 50 and a radially outer surface 24 suitable for being subjected to the action of a pressure fluid. The emergency seal also has a constant cross section along its own circumferential development. The cross section comprises a main solid portion 26 from which two appendices 28 depart, which have a mainly outward radial development. The radially inner surface comprises at least two sealing prominences 32, and the emergency seal is made of an elastomeric material. The invention also relates to a seal assembly 200 and a sealing package 220 comprising the emergency seal.
Shaft seal assembly
A shaft seal assembly may include a stator and a rotor. The rotor may be configured to rotate with a shaft, and the stator may be engaged with a housing. The stator and rotor may be configured with radial and/or axial recesses and/or radial and/or axial projections. These various features may be configured such that the stator and rotor cooperate to form a ring cavity. A cooperating ring may be positioned in the ring cavity, and the cooperating ring may be configured such that is circumferentially expandable so that the cooperating ring changes size and/or shape when it rotates as opposed to when it is not rotating.
Multistage shaft sealing apparatus and rotary machine
A multistage shaft sealing apparatus includes a first sealing unit, a second sealing unit, and a third sealing unit provided, in a sequential order from a side of the apparatus closer to inside of the apparatus, in a fluid leakage passage formed between the rotating shaft or the rotating member and a housing located to surround the rotating shaft or the rotating member. The first sealing unit includes a first runner and a first sealing ring which form a non-contact-type sealing surface; the second sealing unit includes a second runner and a second sealing ring which form a contact-type sealing surface; the third sealing unit includes a third runner and a third sealing ring which form a contact-type sealing surface, and a purge water supply passage supplying purge water to the third sealing unit and a purge water discharge passage discharging the purge water supplied to the third sealing unit.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR PUMP SEALING DURING LEAKAGE EVENTS
A pump leakage mitigation device includes one or more clamp arms on an outer surface of a pump that can be driven by a biasing element to seat against a shaft of the pump to seal or reduce fluid flow through a breakdown of the pump. The biasing element engages only at threshold temperatures, such as those associated with breakdown orifice failure when additional sealing may be necessary. Clamp arms of any number and shape can be used to achieve the desired seal and based on the pump geometry. A sealant surface and/or keeping mechanism are useable with the leakage mitigation device to enhance fluid flow blockage throughout a pump failure transient scenario. Pump leakage mitigation devices are installed on an outside of a variety of different pump types and can thus be installed, actuated, manipulated, disengaged, and/or removed without having to destroy or disassemble the pump.
