Screw-threaded working cylinder
A screw-threaded working cylinder includes a tubular cylinder that an end region. The end region has a first thread. The end region has a tapered wall section and the tapered wall section has an axial annular surface. A closure has a second thread and the closure is screwed by the second thread into the first thread in a final mounting position. The closure has a mating axial annular surface. The axial annular surface and the mating axial annular surface are pressed in a positive fitting contact to one another in the final mounting position for defining a pressure contact surface. The pressure contact surface defines a sealing plane, and a surface pressure in an area of the pressure contact surface that causes a deformation of the tubular cylinder and the closure. The deformation occurs within an elastic limit over a range from zero applied pressure to a maximum permissible pressure by a pressure medium for the working cylinder. A piston unit is accommodated in the tubular cylinder.
Seals for allowing off-axis motion while maintaining sealed connection
Systems and methods include providing an aircraft with a fuselage and a wing assembly rotatable relative to the fuselage about a stow axis between a flight position and a stowed position. The aircraft includes a drive component having a retractable driveshaft that selectively engages the mid-wing gearbox via axially translatable motion along a rotation axis when the wing assembly is in the flight position. The mid-wing gearbox is misaligned with the retractable driveshaft when the wing assembly is in the stowed position. A seal is coupled to the drive component at a first end and the mid-wing gearbox at a second end and deploys in order to maintain a sealed connection between the drive component and the mid-wing gearbox when the wing assembly is transitioned between the flight position and the stowed position.

THERMOPLASTIC FLANGE WITH OVERMOLDED METAL PLATE
A fitting for attaching a flexible hose to a device includes a conduit body having a first end configured to attach to a flexible hose, and an open second end having an attachment flange. The attachment flange has an annular recess surrounding the open second end a gasket molded into the annular recess. A strengthening member is adjacent the annular recess. The attachment flange is formed of a thermoplastic elastomer and the strengthening member is overmolded by the thermoplastic elastomer.
JOINT BLOCK AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A joint block includes a block body, a closing member mounted in a recessed part formed on the other end side of the block body, a seal mechanism that includes a circular projection formed on an opposing surface of the block body, and seals an area between the block body and the closing member by the circular projection biting into the other opposing surface around an opening of a first flow path, a swaging part that is formed on the block body and presses the closing member toward the opposing surface, and an engaging part formed by an inner peripheral part of the recessed part and an outer peripheral part of the closing member that engages with the inner peripheral part. A pressing force that presses the circular projection of the seal mechanism against the other opposing surface is shared by the swaging part and the engaging part.
Housing assembly and method
A cover for a housing of a vehicle and a method of sealing a cover to the housing, where in at least one example, the cover comprises a cover body configured to cover an opening of the housing and to engage the housing at an interface around the opening. The cover may comprise a heating element embedded within the cover body and operable to at least partially melt a portion of the cover body as a part of a process for sealing the cover to the housing. The portion of the cover body may deform and conform to an interface feature at the mating surface of the housing due to the at least partial melting of the portion of the cover body, and, in some examples, the heating element may be configured to fail and be inoperable.

Mechanical seal between an actuator housing and cover and method for providing a seal between an actuator housing and cover
A method and apparatus for providing a mechanical seal between two objects is provided. The mechanical interface including a protrusion located on a first component; and a pair of cantilevered beams located on a second component, wherein the pair of cantilevered beams are forced outwardly on opposite sides of the protrusion when a tab portion of the second component is received in an opening of the first component. The method of including the steps of: forcing a pair of cantilevered beams located on a second component outwardly from opposite sides of the protrusion when as a tab portion of the second component is received in an opening of a first component.
