SEAL ASSEMBLY WITH SEAL UNIT

A sealing arrangement includes a housing, a shaft and a sealing unit. The sealing unit includes a sealing ring having a retaining section and having a sealing lip which extends outwardly from the retaining section in a direction radial to the central axis of the sealing unit and which dynamically sealingly rests against a sealing surface of a housing of the sealing arrangement. The sealing unit includes an internally tensioning clamping ring which is arranged embedded in the material of the sealing ring and secures the axial position of the retaining section in the retaining groove and ensures that the retaining section is circumferentially pretensioned and statically sealingly rests against the shaft.

Dynamic sealing labyrinth seals

A compression ring for a shrouded compressor including a radially inner surface having one or more areas configured to mate flush with one or more portions of a radially outward surface of a shroud of the shrouded compressor, a radially outer surface located opposite the radially inner surface, a labyrinth seal located on the radially outer surface, a groove located within the radially inner surface, and a load ring located within the groove.

An oil deflector comprising: a cylindrical portion; a first guide surface extending radially outward from the cylindrical portion; and a second guide surface that is located on a radially outer side of the cylindrical portion and extends in a direction that crosses an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion and the first guide surface.

Radial shaft seal

A radial shaft seal for a shaft to be sealed operating at high rotational speeds and circumferential speeds in both rotational directions has a sealing lip with a first circumferential ring and a second circumferential ring. The first circumferential ring is resting seal-tightly against the shaft to be sealed and seals the medium side. At the side of the first circumferential ring facing the air side, there are first return elements that convey leakage medium back to the medium side. The second circumferential ring is provided at the side of the first circumferential ring facing the air side and second return elements are provided at its air side. The second return elements guide medium that has passed underneath the second circumferential ring back underneath the second circumferential ring to the medium side.

NON-PUSHER DRY RUNNING SEAL WITH SEALING ELASTOMER AS A BACKUP IN SLIDING SEAL SYSTEM

A mechanical seal assembly adapted for arrangement around a rotating shaft of a pump has first and second seals. Both include primary and mating rings, biasing mechanisms and annular flexible sealing membranes. The two seals can have different seal balances or different biasing forces (or both) to allow the second seal to run dry for extended periods.

Sealing device with dynamic action, particularly for rolling bearings

Sealing device including a first annular element coupled to a first fixed mechanical member, and a second annular element coupled to a second rotating mechanical member, for protecting an annular compartment delimited between the members; the first element being provided with at least one annular sealing lip configured to interact with the second element, which has a radial edge of a flange portion arranged at an edge of a sleeve portion of the first element, thus forming with the latter a radial gap configured as a labyrinth seal; wherein the radial gap of the flange portion of the second annular element carries a plurality of depressions arranged in a crown, spaced adjacently to one another at the radial gap and configured to generate, as a result of the rotation of the second element, a dynamic effect (F) for the purpose of repelling any contaminants impelled towards the radial gap.

Seal ring

The seal ring is annular around an axis x and includes an annular outer peripheral surface facing an outer periphery side, and a plurality of recessed parts. The recessed parts are formed in such a way as to be spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction and are recessed from the outer peripheral surface toward an inner periphery side. The recessed parts expand, in the axis x direction, from one side surface to a position which does not reach another side surface. The outer peripheral surface includes a annular contact surface between the another side surface and the position, and rib surfaces respectively between mutually neighboring recessed parts in the circumferential direction. Each of the rib surfaces extends between the one side surface and the position in the axis x direction.

Labyrinth seal with interlocking rotor and seal case insert

A labyrinth seal includes a seal case with an inner-diameter leg encircling a rotation axis, and an insert fixed in the seal case and encircling the rotation axis. The labyrinth seal also includes a slinger encircling the rotation axis and wrapping around the inner-diameter leg to cooperate with the seal case to form a first part of a labyrinth path. The slinger rotates relative to the seal case. The labyrinth seal also includes a rotor that encircles the rotation axis, cooperates with the insert to form a second part of the labyrinth path, and interlocks with the insert to limit axial movement of the rotor when the rotor rotates relative to the insert. The labyrinth seal may be combined with a bearing cone, a bearing cup, and a plurality of rollers to form a roller bearing assembly.

Shock wave mechanical seal

An end face mechanical seal for a high pressure, compressible fluid includes metal or ceramic seal faces separated by a seal gap having at least one supersonic region that accelerates the fluid in the leakage direction, producing a shockwave that reduces fluid pressure to significantly reduce viscous heating and gap length. A choke width of the seal gap formed between the converging and diverging segments of the first supersonic region is between 50 and 200 micro-inches, and upper and lower boundaries thereof are flat, with combined slopes of less than 10 degrees. A total length of all of the supersonic regions is less than 0.1 inches. A non-supersonic region can further reduce fluid pressure by inducing viscous stresses. The seal can be configured axially or radially, and can be used as a pre-conditioner in combination with a conventional downstream mechanical fluid seal.

Seal arrangement and method for manufacturing a seal arrangement

Provided is a seal arrangement for sealing an internal space between two components mounted for rotation relative to each other, in particular for sealing a wheel bearing. The seal arrangement comprises a first carrier element, which can be connected to the first component, and a second carrier element, which can be connected to the second component. A sealing element is formed on at least one of the carrier elements and rests against the respective other carrier element at least one contact point. It is provided that at least one opening is made in the first carrier element, into which a ventilation element is inserted. It is provided that a receiving space is formed on the ventilation element, which is delimited in the radial direction by a collar on a base body of the ventilation element, wherein a gas-permeable membrane or a porous body is arranged in the receiving space.
