20240026976 · 2024-01-25 ·

A starter ring for a pump packing assembly is disclosed. The assembly comprises an annular portion adjacent to an opening of a housing cylindrical surface. An axially outwardly extending portion opposite the opening and engaged with the housing cylindrical surface. Layers of a fabric reinforced elastomeric material covering the radially inwardly extending annular portion and the axially outwardly extending portion. A male adapter pocket is positioned at one side of the starter ring and configured to displace the volume of the starter ring and to generate a wiper force for initiating a wiping effect on the adjacent position of the at least one resembling shape of annular sealing ring. The male adapter pocket allows pressure forces from the reciprocating plunger to intensify the wiping effect of the starter ring, and exclude proppants from coming in contact with the at least one resembling shape of annular sealing.

[Problem] To provide a sealing device having high pressure resistance and durability for a reciprocating shaft.

[Solution] A sealing device comprising an oil seal member and a dust seal member. The oil seal member and the dust seal member each comprise a rigid ring provided inside a shaft hole and an elastic ring attached to the rigid ring, wherein the elastic ring has formed thereon a lip that slidably contacts a reciprocating shaft. The rigid ring of the dust seal member is detachably fitted in the rigid ring of the oil seal member. The sealing device further comprises another rigid ring provided between the elastic ring of the oil seal member and the elastic ring of the dust seal member in a direction parallel to the axial direction of the reciprocating shaft. This rigid ring is detachably fitted in a concave portion formed radially inward of the rigid ring of the dust seal member and reinforces the elastic ring of the dust seal member.

Seal assemblies for use with fluid valves

Seal assemblies for use with fluid valves are described. An example apparatus includes a cage; a plug including a seal gland; and means for sealingly engaging an inner surface of the cage at least partially positioned in the seal gland and including a first portion and a second portion, in response to a fluid acting on the first portion in a first direction, the first portion to engage, outwardly urge, and splay the second portion to sealingly engage the cage, in response to the fluid acting in a second direction, the second portion to deter the fluid from acting on the first portion, the first direction opposite the second direction.

A seal assembly includes a first and second machine element, a seal and a support ring. The support ring has a first side edge facing a high-pressure side which is partially convexly curved, formed obliquely or is partially formed at an acute angle relative to a movement axis of the two machine elements. The seal has a retaining portion and a primary sealing lip extending from the retaining portion on the high-pressure side and abuts in a dynamically sealing manner against a sealing surface of the second machine element. The primary sealing lip directly abuts and is supported over the majority of its longitudinal extent on the first side edge of the support ring on the low-pressure side. The retaining section of the seal is held clamped between the support ring and the first machine element and abuts the first machine element in a statically or indirectly statically sealing manner.

BACK-UP RING SYSTEM FOR ELASTOMERIC SEALING ELEMENTS

A back-up ring system incudes an outer C-ring, an inner C-ring that mates with the outer C-ring, the inner C-ring including a first rupture port, and a ring sheath that fits onto the inner C-ring, the ring sheath including a cut-out region, and a second rupture point. The inner C-ring further includes a blocking segment that angularly offsets the first and second rupture points. The cut-out region of the ring sheath mates with the blocking segment of the inner C-ring. The ring sheath further incudes a 7 shaped cross-sectional profile.
