COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH COATED DIFFUSED LAYER
A composite material includes a substrate that is thermochemically treated in order to harden the surface thereof and that is, therefore, not subject to deformations as a result of high stresses sustained by the outer layer. The composite material also includes an adhesion layer overlying the treated layer. Subsequently, an intermediate layer and a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) layer are added, wherein the DLC layer has a structure based on an amorphous carbon film. The composite material may be used in valves built into submarine equipment. The composite material is thermochemically treated and comprises a treated substrate and an adhesion layer onto which is disposed an intermediate layer that receives a final DLC layer. All of these layers are disposed on the surface of a substrate of a gate valve.
HIGH-TEMPERATURE LOW-FRICTION COBALT-FREE COATING SYSTEM FOR GATE VALVES, BALL VALVES, STEMS, AND SEATS
A method of manufacturing a device includes thermally spraying tungsten carbine in feedstock that does not include Cobalt but that includes Nickel, Copper, or a Nickel-Copper alloy, the method improves the base coating toughness, anticorrosion, and antifouling properties for high load application in sea water and brackish water environments. Additionally, a Cobalt-free material lowers material costs and reduces the global demand of Cobalt. Providing a topcoat of a Silicon-doped DLC significantly reduces the topcoat brittleness of common DLC failures such as “egg shell” in high stress applications. Thus, high hardness, low friction applications may be tailored in high stress applications.

A valve assembly for a fuel pump and having: a one-way outlet closing valve, which only allows fuel to flow out; a one-way pressure relief valve, which only allows fuel to flow in; a connector, which has a housing on the inside; and a valve disc, which engages the housing of the connector and has a plurality of through outlet holes and a through relief hole. A shutter of the outlet closing valve consists of a flexible sheet, which is fixed to the valve disc and has: a plurality of shutting portions arranged in the area of the outlet holes; a peripheral mounting portion with an annular shape; a plurality of outer connection portions, each connecting the peripheral mounting portion to a corresponding shutting portion; a central mounting portion; and a plurality of inner connection portions, each connecting the central mounting portion to a corresponding shutting portion.

A shear seal includes a seal plate having a first seal surface and a sliding seal assembly having a second seal surface, and at least one of the first and second sealing surfaces comprise an insert comprising a material different than that of the seal plate or the sliding seal connected to the seal plate or sliding seal assembly by a compressed member disposed between the insert and the adjacent surface of seal plate or sliding seal assembly.
Corrosion and Wear Resistant Overlay, Method for Forming Corrosion and Wear Resistant Overlay, and Corrosion and Wear Resistant Valve
Intended is to improve the corrosion resistance of an overlay used in a nuclear power plant, and to reduce dissolution of cobalt from an overlay. The corrosion and wear resistant overlay 7 is formed along a surface of a base 2 by laser lamination modeling, and is configured from a plurality of metal layers 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d of a Co-base alloy. The thickness of carbide eutectics that precipitate in the metal layers 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d is the largest in the metal layer 1a closest to the base 2, and is gradually smaller in the metal layers 1b, 1c, and 1d farther away from the base 2. The intensity of the laser beam applied to form layers by laser lamination modeling is adjusted so that the carbide eutectics that precipitate in at least the outermost metal layer 1d have a controlled size of 10 μm or less.
CATALYST CONTROL AND WITHDRAWAL VALVE WITH TIGHT SHUTOFF CAPABILITY
A slide valve having a valve disc that is slidably movable between a fully-retracted fully-open position and a fully-extended fully-closed tight shutoff position by an actuating stem. The actuating stem is flexibly coupled to the valve disc. The valve disc is selectively modulated between the fully-extended fully-closed tight shutoff position and a partially-retracted non-tight shutoff position to prevent sticking of the valve disc in the fully-extended fully-closed tight shutoff position.
Knife gate valve liner
Embodiments of the invention provide a housing assembly for a knife gate valve. The housing assembly includes a valve body defining a passageway and having a first body and a second body, and a one-piece liner arranged between the first body and the second body. The first body and the second body each include a flange recessed portion that defines a flange recess surface. Each of the flange recess surfaces includes a first flange surface portion, a second flange surface portion, and a raised flange bead. The one-piece liner includes a first liner flange portion that forms a first liner recess. The first liner recess receives the flange recessed portion of the first body to bring the raised flange bead of the first body into engagement with the first liner flanged portion.

A gate valve includes a first plate with a first opening; a second plate with a second opening positioned opposite the first plate such that the first opening is aligned with the second opening; a gate with a gate opening positioned between the first plate and second plate and movable from a close position where the gate blocks flow through the first opening and the second opening and an open position where the gate opening aligns with the first opening and the second opening to allow flow through the valve; and a wear ring lining the gate opening.
