Gate valve
In an embodiment, a gate valve includes a valve body including a first opening, a second opening, a flow passage from the first opening to the second opening, and a gate channel intersecting the flow passage. The gate channel is defined in part by two side walls facing parallel to a center axis of the flow passage, and wherein at least one of the side walls has a concave slot extending lengthwise along a center of the side wall. In an embodiment, gate for a gate valve includes a first disc-shaped side and a second disc-shaped side. The first disc-shaped side includes a first center guide and a first diameter, the first center guide being a convex ridge extending across the first diameter.

Valve assembly with cap
A valve assembly includes a body having spaced apart ports defining a flow passageway therebetween and a top surface. A valve is disposed in the flow passageway. A bonnet is coupled to the top surface of the body. A rising stem is supported by the bonnet and is operably coupled to the valve. A cap includes a bottom sealingly coupled to at least one of the body or the bonnet and an opening. The cap is disposed over the bonnet with the stem extending through the opening.

Gate Valve
In embodiments, a gate valve includes a body including a flow passage from a first opening to a second opening, and a gate channel from the flow passage to a third opening, the gate channel having a central longitudinal axis and a ridge defining a perimeter of the opening. A valve cover can fit over the third opening and exert a clamping force on the ridge, the clamping force having a first force component perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis and a second force component parallel with the central longitudinal axis. In embodiments, a valve cover includes a first mating surface configured to extend over an opening of the gate valve, a first clamping section extending at a first non-parallel angle from a first side of the first mating surface, and a second clamping section extending at a second non-parallel angle from a second side of the first mating surface.

Valve seat assembly having mating surfaces with a reverse taper angle
A valve seat assembly includes a body having an insert pocket with an axially extending inner surface and a radially extending bottom surface. The valve seat further includes an insert disposed within the insert pocket of the body. The insert includes an axially extending outer surface and a radially extending bottom surface for mating with the axially extending inner surface and a radially extending bottom surface of the insert pocket of the body. The axially extending inner surface of the body is formed with a non-zero reverse taper angle, A.sub.4, for securing the insert within the insert pocket of the body. The axially extending outer surface of the insert is formed with a reverse taper angle, A.sub.5, equal to or greater than zero degrees. A valve assembly includes a valve and the valve seat assembly in reciprocating contact with the valve.
