GATE VALVE AND METHOD OF REPAIRING SAME

A gate valve for controlling flow of a fluid therethrough is provided. The gate valve includes a valve body having an outer surface, a bore, a valve cavity, a first seat pocket, a second seat pocket, and first and second fluid ports extending from the outer surface to the first and second seat pockets, respectively. First and second seats are positioned respectively within the first and second seat pockets. The seats include circumferential fluid channels and one or more conduits in fluid communication with the fluid ports for permitting a repair fluid to be injected into the ports to the faces of the seats. A gate is slidably positioned within the valve cavity between the first seat and the second seat for controlling flow of a fluid through the valve. Sand shields are also provided at the rear of the seats to capture particulates and to bias the seats against the gate.

The valve can include a flow guide to guide flow of material away from a sealing engagement between sealing members of the valve. The flow guide assists in preventing ingress of material between the sealing members to maintain proper function of the valve.

Venturi devices are disclosed herein that include a body defining a Venturi gap between an outlet end of a converging motive section and an inlet end of a diverging discharge section, having a suction port in fluid communication with the Venturi gap, a gate valve linearly translatable to open and close the Venturi gap, and an actuator connected to the gate valve to operatively move the gate valve between an open position and a closed position. The gate valve, in a longitudinal cross-section, is generally U-shaped, thereby having continuous, opposing sides that one each close the motive outlet and the discharge inlet and defining a void between the opposing sides that is in fluid communication with the suction port. The converging motive section defines a circular-shaped motive inlet and defines an elliptical- or polygonal-shaped motive outlet, and the diverging discharge section defines an elliptical- or polygonal-shaped discharge inlet.

A chromatography valve for use in fluid analysis and chromatography applications is provided. The valve includes a first body having passages extending therethrough and opening on a flat face of the first body at respective passage ports. The valve also includes a second body engaged with the first body in a sealed relationship, whereby one of the first and second bodies is movable relative to the other one between two or more positions for controlling fluid circulation through the passages. The second body includes at least one cartridge receiving cavity for receiving at least one cartridge removably provided therein. The cartridge has channel(s) for channeling fluid of pairs of the passage ports, depending on the position of the first body relative to the second body, thereby channeling fluid through selected ones of the passages via the at least one channel A method of operating the valve is also provided.

A blade for vacuum valves is provided with an opening/closing plate having one side surface coming into contact with a moving passage part. A screw coupling part is formed on the other side surface and a first elastic member seating part is formed on the outer circumference of the screw coupling part. A shaft connecting bar is provided on the other surface of the opening/closing plate having a contact protrusion part having a second elastic member seating part and a connecting part formed in the contact protrusion part so that a connecting unit is inserted. The first elastic member is provided between the first elastic member seating part and the second elastic member seating part to guide the elastic connection between the opening/closing plate and the shaft connecting bar.

A blade for vacuum valves is provided with an opening/closing plate having one side surface coming into contact with a moving passage part. A screw coupling part is formed on the other side surface and a first elastic member seating part is formed on the outer circumference of the screw coupling part. A shaft connecting bar is provided on the other surface of the opening/closing plate having a contact protrusion part having a second elastic member seating part and a connecting part formed in the contact protrusion part so that a connecting unit is inserted. The first elastic member is provided between the first elastic member seating part and the second elastic member seating part to guide the elastic connection between the opening/closing plate and the shaft connecting bar.
