Reducing noise in ball valves

A component for a ball valve that is configured to reduce noise. The component or “shoe” can install into the valve body, for example, on a downstream side of a throttling ball. In one implementation, the embodiments comprise an annular ring with an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface is cupped to receive a portion of the throttling ball. The outer surface may have a stepped profile with portions of the annular ring that have concentrically-decreasing diameter. This stepped profile sits in a corresponding recess in the valve body. Welds can be used to secure the shoe in place in lieu of fasteners, like bolts or screws.

Valve assembly

The disclosure relates to valve assemblies having a valve body including a first port, a second port and a fluid passageway extending therebetween. A valve member, having a through port, is arranged in the fluid passageway and is moveable between an open and closed positions. A sealing arrangement is arranged between the first port and the valve member and includes a sealing member arranged to seal against the valve member such that fluid cannot flow around an outer surface of the valve member. The sealing arrangement includes a sleeve arranged in the fluid passageway between the first port and the valve member. A deformable, incompressible, medium is contained around the sleeve and arranged such that, in use, a fluid within the sleeve exerts an outward pressure on the sleeve causing the sleeve to deform and act on the medium to push the sealing member against the valve member.

BALL VALVE WITH INTEGRATED FITTING

Embodiments provide a fitting that is integrated into the valve body of a ball valve during the manufacture of the valve body. The fitting and a cartridge may be overmolded to create the valve body. The mold may apply a pressure onto the fitting during the molding process. The fitting may transfer the pressure of the mold onto the cartridge. The fitting may transfer a sufficient amount of force to seal valve seats of the ball valve.

Ball valve with offset straight through flow

A ball valve with offset straight through flow is provided. The ball valve has a housing having an inlet and an outlet and an internal cavity. A non-spherical ball valve member is positioned within the internal cavity. The valve member is mechanically coupled to a valve stem extending from the internal cavity to an exterior of the housing such that rotation of the valve stem results in a like rotation of the valve member. The ball valve has a fully closed position wherein fluid flow therethrough is prevented. The ball valve member also has a fully opened position where fluid flow therethrough is allowed. The ball valve can transition from the fully closed position to the frilly opened position and vice versa with a rotation of the valve member of less than or equal to about forty-five degrees.

A motorized valve includes a body with at least one intake duct and one outlet duct, a plugging member movably mounted in the body to plug or release a passage between the intake duct and the outlet duct, and a motorized control system for controlling the movement of the plugging member. The motorized control system also includes a plug valve connecting intake and outlet ducts, a gear motor including an electric motor and a reduction gear train. The gear train includes an exit wheel rotating the plug of the valve so as to allow progressive opening of the valve, and the gear motor is formed by a casing including the electric motor and reduction gear train, the valve body being integrally formed with the casing.

High resolution ball valve with 270 degree rotation

A valve assembly is disclosed. The valve assembly may a valve body defined by an inlet port, an outlet port and flange. A movable valve member comprises an inlet opening extending from a leading edge surface present at a narrow slot region to trailing edge surface present at about a full bore region wherein the angle between the leading edge surface and trailing edge surface at the center of valve member is about 270 degrees. The fluid flow from the inlet port of the valve body to one or more outlet openings is controlled by the rotation of the valve member. Rotation of movable valve member enables linear controlling of the fluid flow wherein the control of fluid flow is proportional to the degrees of rotation from 0 to about 270 degrees.

A device for expansion of coolant having a housing with a flow channel. A ball-shaped valve element arranged to be integrated inside the housing. The valve element is mounted so that it can turn about an axis of rotation and is configured with a through channel. The through channel of the valve element is configured with an entry opening and an exit opening and arranged so that the flow cross section of the through channel decreases from the entry opening to the exit opening in the direction of flow of the coolant. At the exit of the through channel the least flow cross section is formed.

Balancing valve

The present invention proposes a balancing valve, a fluid network with such a balancing valve, and a method of maintaining such a balancing valve. The balancing valve comprises a housing having a main fluid passage extending along a main flow axis, a valve body disposed within the housing in the fluid passage, wherein the valve body has a first through hole forming a first fluid passage with a variable first fluid passage cross section. The valve body has a second through hole distinct from the first through hole and forming a second fluid passage in the valve body. The first fluid passage is a main fluid passage and the second fluid passage is a by-pass passage.

Gas burner control ball valve

A control gas ball valve for high pressure gas cooking appliances provides a linear surface slot along its rotation direction. When turned by a control knob and enters a gas inlet, the said surface slot is able to channel gas input to a hole that connects said surface slot to the center of the valve ball. The gas in the center of the valve ball is directed away to a burner for cooking purposes. The said linear surface slot is able to provide constant flowrate slope for continuously variable power adjustment and a maximum power plateau. These are the most desirable features in residential cooking.

Rotary plug valve with labyrinth

A rotary valve has a valve plug that is rotatable in a valve body about a rotational axis. Surface features of the valve plug and surface features of the valve body cooperate to provide a bearing by which the valve plug is rotatably supported with respect to the valve body. In addition, each of the valve plug and the valve body include a plurality of annular projections that encircle the plain bearing and axially overlap one another so as to form a labyrinth that surrounds the bearing. The labyrinth forms a fluid path that collects abrasive particles suspended in the fluid passing through the valve, whereby wear of the valve is reduced.
