11543042 · 2023-01-03 · ·

In an aspect, an inflatable object includes an object body enclosing a chamber to receive air, and a valve mounted to the inflatable object body, including a valve body defining a passageway between the chamber and an ambient environment. The valve body has a shoulder. The valve body defines an outside end, which opens to the ambient environment, and an inside end, which opens into the chamber. The valve includes a one-way flap that is movable between an open position to permit fluid communication between the chamber and the ambient environment through the passageway, and a closed position. The one-way flap is biased to the closed position with a closing force selected to be overcomable to move the one-way flap to the open position by an airflow having a speed that is less than about 48 m/s, and which is at a pressure lower than 1 atmosphere.

BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLY WITH A LINKAGE

A check valve for a backflow prevention assembly includes a linkage with a platform having a proximal end and a distal end and a first coupling member supported by the platform for engaging a bias assembly. A stop protrudes from the proximal end of the platform to engage a frame of the check valve for limiting travel of the platform. A branch depends from the proximal end of the platform, the branch having a hinge pin configured to nest in a slot defined by check valve. A second coupling member depends from the distal end of the platform for engaging a valve member.

Charge-air cooler and method to reduce water induction in engine

An engine system includes an intake manifold and a charge-air cooler disposed upstream of the intake manifold. The charge-air cooler includes a housing defining an enclosure having a water reservoir, a heat exchanger disposed within the enclosure, and a valve disposed within the enclosure. The valve has a flap that is movable between an open position in which airflow is permitted across the water reservoir and a closed position is which airflow across the water reservoir is inhibited.

BALL VALVE ASSEMBLY

A control valve assembly includes a valve body defining an inlet, an outlet and a fluid flow pathway therebetween. A ball valve is positioned within the fluid flow pathway and includes a rotatable ball having an inlet opening, an outlet opening and a flow pathway therebetween, an upstream seat ring positioned at an inlet side of the ball, and a downstream seat ring positioned at a downstream side of the ball, the seat rings being configured to substantially seal off fluid flow between upstream and downstream sides of the ball except through the ball fluid flow pathway. At least one of the upstream and downstream seat rings is a dynamic sealing seat ring. A retainer ring is positioned between the dynamic sealing seat ring and a portion of the rotatable ball to substantially prevent deformation of a portion of the dynamic sealing seat ring in a direction toward the ball.

MUFFLER VALVE AND MUFFLER

Provided is a muffler valve 1 which is attached to a separator partitioning the inside of a muffler and opens and closes an exhaust passage according to the pressure of an exhaust gas of an engine. A valve body is swingably supported by a support shaft with respect to a valve seat. The valve body is urged in a closing direction by a spring member externally inserted to the support shaft. A valve seat substrate of the valve seat arranged along the separator is formed in a substantially flat-plate ring shape having an opening in the center. A valve body substrate of the valve body is formed in a flat dish shape having a flat rim. The muffler valve provides excellent handleability during attachment and can reduce the manufacturing cost of the muffler, improve manufacturing efficiency, and maintain high durability of the muffler.

LOW WATER HAMMER BREAK CHECK VALVE

A valve closure device for a check valve can include a first valve member configured to rotate from an open position to a closed position; a second valve member configured to rotate from an open position of the second valve member to a closed position of the second valve member; and a hydraulic dampener coupled to each of the first valve member and the second valve member in each of the open position and the closed position of each of the first valve member and the second valve member, the hydraulic dampener configured to resist rotation of the first valve member towards the closed position of the first valve member and the second valve member towards the closed position of the second valve member.

Mixed regime passive valve

A system for gas extraction is provided with a flap valve coupled to a bore with a pivot axis offset from an axis of the bore. The valve includes a higher mass on a shorter side of the pivot axis. A valve surface on the shorter side is inclined above a horizontal plane when the valve closes. The valve opens during liquid and gas flow to extract gas from the flow. As liquid flows over the valve, the valve is forced to close. The center of gravity of the valve relative to the offset pivot point ensures that the valve remains closed during liquid flow. As gas flows over the valve, closing forces are reduced and under internal vacuum, the mass distribution about the offset pivot axis allows the flap of the valve to tilt; opening the valve and allowing gas to enter the bore.

Systems and methods for coastal drainage control

A drainage device includes a conduit extending from a bottom end toward a top end and a valve coupled to the conduit. The valve includes a first stop having an opening and an obstruction within the conduit. The obstruction, in a first configuration, may be spaced apart from the opening, enabling fluid to flow through the first stop and through the conduit. The obstruction, in a second configuration, may block the opening to prevent fluid flow through the first stop and through the conduit. The obstruction may move from the first configuration to the second configuration in response to (1) fluid pressure acting in a direction from the bottom end toward the top end of the conduit, or (2) when a fluid having a higher density than the obstruction is disposed within the valve.
