Automatic shutoff valve for breakaway wet barrel fire hydrant
An automatic shutoff valve for breakaway wet barrel fire hydrant is disclosed. In general, one aspect disclosed features an apparatus comprising: a valve housing comprising a valve body, a flange, and a valve seat; a valve pedal configured to engage the valve seat and prevent fluid flow through the valve seat in a closed position, and to permit fluid flow through the valve seat in an open position; a lockout tab disposed within the valve body, wherein the lockout tab maintains the valve pedal in the open position; a lockout bar disposed distally from the valve body; and an activation rod mechanically coupled to the lockout bar and configured to keep the valve pedal engaged with the lockout tab.
Fault-accommodating flow scheduling valve
A fault-accommodating flow scheduling valve has a first inlet, outlet, and orifice therebetween. The valve has a shuttle valve member on the orifice inlet side, a primary valve member on the orifice outlet side, a compression-loaded primary spring, and first and second compression-loaded balance springs. Below a threshold differential pressure, the primary valve member engages with the outlet-side sealing face to close the valve while the shuttle valve member is spaced from the inlet-side sealing face, and on failure of the primary spring, the primary valve member moves from the outlet-side sealing face but the shuttle valve member closes the valve. Above the threshold differential pressure, the primary valve member opens the valve while the shuttle valve member remains spaced, and on failure of the primary spring, the primary valve member moves further from the outlet-side sealing face but the shuttle valve member closes the valve.
FLUID FLOW CONTROL VALVE FOR FLUID FLOW SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A fluid flow control valve includes a valve body having a bore configured to convey fluid from an inlet port to an outlet port. The inlet and outlet ports, and the bore therebetween, define a fluid flow path through the valve body. A gate element is disposed in the bore. The gate element is positionable in the bore from a first position, which allows fluid flow through the bore, to a second position which restricts fluid flow through the bore. An actuator is coupled to the gate element and is configured to urge the gate element from the first position toward the second position. A fuse consisting of a transformable retainer is configured to retain the gate element in the first position, while the retainer is in a first condition, and to allow the gate element to move toward the second position when the retainer transforms to a second condition. The transformable retainer may be configured to transform from the first condition to the second condition responsive to a signal, e.g., a signal indicative of a thermal change or a fluid leak. The innovative valves are especially but not exclusively suited for governing flow in a heat transfer system, particularly a heat transfer system for dissipating heat from a plurality of computer servers. The innovative valves may be embodied in systems, methods, apparatuses, and components.
AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF VALVE FOR BREAKAWAY WET BARREL FIRE HYDRANT

SELF-SEALING BREAKAWAY VALVE
The present invention is directed to a self-sealing breakaway valve having a poppet-style design. The breakaway valve may be made from two body portions coupled together by one or more frangible fasteners in order to form a flow path through the breakaway valve. Each body portion may include a valve mechanism responsive to separation of the two body portions from each other to cause closure of the flow path in the respective body portion. The valve mechanisms may be releasably coupled together by a coupling key configured to restrict movement of each valve mechanism, so that the flow path within the breakaway valve remains open. Upon separation of the two body portions from each other, the coupling key may be released from the valve mechanisms allowing for closure of the flow path by the valve mechanisms thereby preventing fluid leakage from the breakaway valve.
Valve stem of needle throttle valve and method of fabricating the same
This disclosure provides a valve stem of a needle throttle valve and the method of fabricating the same. The valve stem includes ahead part, a body part, a washer, a first solder sheet and a second solder sheet. The washer is made of metal. The first solder sheet is placed between the head part and the washer, and the second solder sheet is placed between the body part and the washer. The head part, the washer and the body part are jointed together by the melted first solder sheet and the melted second solder sheet.
Valve system with isolation device
An on/off valve controls circulation of mediums in an upstream pipeline and a downstream pipeline of the on/off valve; a valve stem of the on/off valve is connected with an on/off actuating mechanism; the upstream pipeline of the on/off valve is connected with a pilot trigger mechanism through a communicating pipe, the pilot trigger mechanism is connected with the on/off actuating mechanism, and the pilot trigger mechanism triggers the on/off actuating mechanism. An isolation device is arranged on the communicating pipe and isolates the communicating pipe into an upstream portion and a downstream portion through a pressure sensing component. The pressure sensing component senses a medium pressure from the upstream pipeline and feed back the pressure to the pilot trigger mechanism, thereby causing an action of the pilot trigger mechanism. A non-viscous and incompressible fluid is filled between the downstream of the communicating pipe and the pilot trigger mechanism.
Stem coupling
A fire hydrant stem coupling sleeve includes a first end, a second end, and a medial section between the first end and the second end. The first end has external threads; the second end has external threads; the first end and the second end each have fingers defining slots between the fingers; the medial section includes a breaking element to facilitate breaking a rigid connection between the first end and the second end; and the medial section has a locator element configured to locate the sleeve with respect to a fire hydrant stem.
ROTATABLE VALVE AND ACTUATOR
A rotatable pressure relief valve assembly is provided. The assembly may comprise a butterfly valve, a spring actuator, and a diaphragm device having a flexible membrane. A linkage assembly may be provided with a first end and a second end, wherein the first end may be configured to engage with a terminal end of a piston of a spring actuator, and wherein the second end may be configured to engage with a latch arm of the diaphragm device. A pilot tube may be configured to transmit an inlet fluid pressure from the inlet side of the butterfly valve to the sealed chamber. The assembly may further comprise a buckling pin mechanism having a buckling pin. The diaphragm device may be configured to translate the inlet fluid pressure into a compressive force and to transmit the compressive force to the buckling pin, and the latch arm may be configured to disengage from the second end of the linkage assembly when the buckling pin has buckled.
