In an information processing apparatus of a guest user, an image data acquisition unit acquires content image data from a host user, and a reproduction processing unit reproduces the content image data and outputs the content image data from an outputting apparatus. An information acquisition unit acquires information for specifying a sharing mode of a content image, and a notification unit notifies the user of the information indicative of the mode of the sharing process in an associated relationship with the reproduced content image. Further, if the information acquisition unit acquires information indicating that the content is within a sharing restriction period, then the notification unit notifies the user of the information indicating that the content is within the sharing restriction period.

Discovery and detection of events in interactive content

A plurality of game titles may be hosted on a gaming network platform, and gameplay data in sessions involving the game titles may be tracked in real-time. Each session may be associated with a stream. One or more event criteria may be stored for each of a plurality of predefined events of interest. An event of interest may be identified when the tracked gameplay data for a session meets the stored criteria. A list of available streams identified as including the identified event may be sorted, and a subset of the available streams may be identified as being at a top of the list. A notification may be provided to a spectator device that includes a link to one of the streams in the subset. The criteria for the event of interest may also be updated based on subsequent game data and feedback (e.g., use of the link).

Invalidating network devices with illicit peripherals

A system and method for passively validating network game users is provided. Data indicative of game behavior and actions at one or more nodes interacting with a network game in a network game community are monitored. The data is evaluated to determine whether the one or more nodes are adhering to one or more rules associated with the network game. Data indicative of illicit game behavior may trigger various responses including invalidation of the node engaged in the illicit behavior. Alternatively, a query may be generated to further identify the nature and/or actual existence of illicit behavior at the node. Monitoring of game data may occur at a server, a peer, as part of a peer group or combinations thereof, which may be based on routine schedule or part of constant game behavior monitoring.

Fragment-based mobile device application streaming utilizing crowd-sourcing

Technology for decomposing an application into fragments and streaming the application in fragments is disclosed herein. According to at least one embodiment, a computer-implemented method includes steps of sending one or more messages to cause a plurality of computing devices that can be used to execute the compute task to be identified, sending at least one message to initiate execution of the compute task to determine the plurality of application fragments including a first application fragment and a second application fragment, collecting fragment information associated with the application fragments from one or more of the plurality of computing devices, storing the fragment information at a storage device, determining that the second application fragment follows the first application fragment based on a fragments relationship data structure, and streaming the second application fragment to a mobile game computing device.

Mesh synchronization

Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for establishing and reestablishing associations between users of game devices. In one embodiment, information about an association between a user of a first game device and a user of a second game device is stored in the nonvolatile memories of first and second game media, the first and second game media being communicatively coupled with the first and second game devices respectively. If the first game device loses track of the association (e.g., the user of the first game devices swaps out the first game medium for another one, or the memory resident on the first game medium is corrupted/erased), an association notification received at the first game device from the second game device may be used to reestablish the association at the first game device. In this manner, previously established associations between users of game devices may be automatically established/reestablished.

Method and system for improving the efficiency of state information transfer over a wireless communications network

The present invention is directed to a system and method for managing state information related to an interactive application to accommodate one or more users participating in an interactive application session, wherein the state information comprises local state information specific to each of the one or more user's unique view of the interactive application and global state information. The system of the present invention may comprise a telecommunications network; an application server in communication with the telecommunications network for managing the global state information relative to all of the users participating in the interactive application session; and at least one mobile client device in communication with the application server over the telecommunications network for managing the local state information for each of the one or more users. The method of the present invention may comprise the steps of structuring the state information for optimized delivery over the telecommunications network; and transferring the state information over the telecommunications network.
