Slam-shut safety devices for a fluid regulator
A slam-shut mechanism for operatively connecting a slam-shut control element of a fluid regulator with a controller for the control element. The mechanism includes a shaft and a cam carried by the shaft and having a cam surface adapted to be operatively connected to the slam-shut control element. The mechanism also includes a latching pin carried by the shaft, a latch, and a lever operably connected to the latch and adapted to be selectively engaged by the controller. When the controller engages the lever, the latch is movable from a first position, in which the latch securely retains the latching pin, such that the cam surface is arranged to retain the slam-shut control element in a fully open position, to a second position, in which the latching pin is released from the latch, thereby allowing the slam-shut control element to move from the fully open position to a closed position.
Flow rate control valve
A flow rate control valve includes a handle rotatably provided on a first body including a second flow path, a needle valve that adjusts the opening degree of the second flow path in accordance with the rotation of the handle, a scale body rotatably provided in the handle, a shaft portion provided in the handle, where the shaft portion can rotate together with the handle and the needle valve to move the needle valve in the axial direction, a clutch mechanism that can transmit rotation of the shaft portion to the scale body and block the transmission of rotation, and a cam mechanism that causes the shaft portion to move linearly. The clutch mechanism transmits the rotation of the shaft portion to the scale body in accordance with the operation performed by the cam mechanism and blocks the transmission of rotation.
Valve control mechanism and method
A valve controller includes a housing, and a lever extending from the housing. The lever includes a protrusion rigidly attached to the lever, and the lever is biased to an initial position. A switch has an open and a closed position. A linkage is pivotally connected to the switch, and the linkage includes a centrally disposed slot configured to receive the protrusion such that movement of the switch controls movement of the linkage and the lever such that moving the switch to the closed position closes a valve controlled by the lever regardless of a position of the lever.
Braking system using a valve
A system for blocking a plug valve, the system comprising: a plug (1) movable in rotation about an axis (Y-Y); and a blocker part (5); the system being characterized in that: the plug (1) presents an index portion having a first ramp (3) and a second ramp (4) that are arranged around the shaft (2) with oppositely-handed slopes; and the blocker part (5) presents first and second index portions (8, 9) adapted to come selectively into contact with the first and second ramps (3, 4) respectively; the first ramp (3) and the first index portion (8) serving to prevent the plug (1) from turning about the longitudinal axis (Y-Y) in a first direction of rotation, and the second ramp (4) and the second index portion (9) serving to prevent the plug (1) from turning about the longitudinal axis (Y-Y) in a second direction of rotation.
Radially expandable locks for valve systems
A valve lock for a linear valve system includes a housing including a passage configured to receive a rod of a linearly extendable valve member of the linear valve system, and a collet assembly received in the housing, wherein the collet assembly has a central axis extending parallel the rod of the valve member, a radially inner configuration with respect to the central axis of the collet assembly, and a radially outer configuration relative to the central axis of the collet assembly, wherein the lock includes an unlocked configuration associated with the radially outer configuration of the collet assembly, and a locked configuration associated with the radially inner configuration of the collet assembly and which locks against the rod of the valve member and thereby prevent the rod from travelling in at least one axial direction.
Method to temporarily lock open a safety valve and system
A method for temporarily locking open a safety valve, including displacing a flow tube comprising a shape memory material into interfering relationship with a flapper of the safety valve, thereby opening the flapper, disposing a dimpling tool in the flow tube, dimpling the flow tube, and applying a change signature to the shape memory material to remove the dimple, and return function to the flow tube. A safety valve with temporary lock open construction including a housing, a flapper articulated to the housing, and a flow tube including a shape memory material disposed in the housing and movable to a position where the flapper is closable and a position where the flapper is open. A wellbore system, including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and a safety valve disposed within or as a part of the string.
Hydraulic Valve with Adjustable Locking Device
A hydraulic valve includes a sliding control member that delimits at least one constantly adjustable diaphragm. The sliding control member is configured to be moved in the direction of a longitudinal axis. The hydraulic valve further includes a locking device with a locking member that is configured to be moved counter to the force of a first spring transversely relative to the longitudinal axis. The hydraulic valve further includes at least one catch contour in which the locking member is configured to be engaged in such a positive-locking manner that the sliding control member is releasably retained in a catch position that is associated with the respective catch contour. The position of at least one catch contour is constantly adjustable in such a manner that the free cross-sectional surface-area of the at least one diaphragm is constantly adjustable in the associated catch position.
Handle insert for valve
Exemplary embodiments are directed to valves, generally including a body assembly and handle assembly. The body assembly generally includes a body and a stem passing through the body. The handle assembly generally includes a handle body and an insert. The insert provides an interface between the stem and the handle body. The insert includes protrusions extending therefrom configured to distribute stress resulting from a moment load applied to the handle assembly through the handle body to reduce failure of the handle body. Methods of positioning a valve are also provided.
Closure element for a valve device and valve device
A closure element for a valve device for fluids and a valve device for fluids is described. The closure element includes a membrane and a valve device protruding from the membrane. The valve device has an outer diameter recess which is configured so that the closure element can be locked by means of a locking slide which can be moved toward the outer diameter recess substantially orthogonally to a feed axis.
