A flexible pipe for subsea transportation of production fluids, a method of manufacturing flexible pipe body and a method of providing corrosion protection to armour wires of at least one tensile armour layer of a flexible pipe having a breached pipe annulus are disclosed. The flexible pipe comprises a fluid retaining layer, an outer sheath and at least one tensile armour layer comprising a plurality of helically wound monofilament armour wires of a first material, each having a non-circular cross section with an aspect ratio of greater than 1:2 disposed between the fluid retaining layer and the outer sheath. The tensile armour layer further comprises at least one helically wound elongate anode element substantially having a cross-section aspect ratio of 1:1 and comprising a further material, interposed between armour wires, the anode element cross section having an area that is 50% or less of a corresponding area of said non-circular cross section.

Spiral-welded polymer products with a cellular wall and thermoplastic profile for its production

The invention relates to production of long spiral-welded large polymer products, as required for pipelines production, chemical, oil and gas and petrochemical industries, agricultural complex and utility services. The object of the invention is to create variants of spiral-welded polymer product with a cellular wall, having the internal or external, or internal and external uniform smooth walls with little material consumption, weight and cost. It should allow making products on site due the use of a thin-walled, lightweight, flexible profile. The object is solved owing to fact that a long hollow thermoplastic profile is used in spiral-welded polymer products, wherein the cross-section of the profile has a form of a closed geometric figure with a convex part having essentially the semi-ring shape and flat part that are connected each other, forming the convex and flat parts of the external surface of the profile, respectively.

Immobilised insert

A method and apparatus are disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing an elongate sheet having a uniform thickness and a first and further spaced apart long edge, to a first pair of a plurality of spaced apart pairs of opposed forming roller elements, and via the pairs of roller elements, progressively forming a cross-sectional profile in the sheet that comprises a body portion comprising a folded central region of the sheet and a first and further wing portion that each extend away from the body portion and terminate at a respective long edge of the sheet, and securing adjacent regions of the wing portions and/or opposed regions of the body portion together thereby providing a windable elongate tape element having laterally immobilised wing portions.

A flexible hose assembly includes a flexible fluid permeable annular carcass arrangement having an inner and an outer diameter formed about a central axis. The carcass arrangement provides skeletal strength to the hose assembly against radial forces. The carcass arrangement has a plurality of interconnecting strips forming convoluted joints between the strips. The convoluted joints have an inner lip and an outer lip at opposite ends of the strips; and the carcass further comprises a plurality of channels formed along an entire length of first and second sides of the strips, the channels creating at least one fluid passage in each of the convoluted joint forming the carcass for the passage of fluids between the inner and outer diameters.
