Load bearing flexible conduit

A load bearing flexible conduit system for use in a body of water and adapted for deployment from a reel located on a water going vessel into the body of water is disclosed. The system comprises a number of lengths of load bearing flexible conduit, each length of load bearing flexible conduit provided with an inner layer having a throughbore and a load bearing outer layer. A joint for connecting the lengths together has a body having a longitudinal axis and a throughbore and at least one flexible coupling to permit at least one of the ends of the respective first and second lengths of load bearing flexible conduit to move relative to the longitudinal axis of the joint.

A pipe structure includes a carcass made from an arrangement of hoop segments that join to form a series of articulating joints. A hard yet flexible outer shell is formed around the carcass. The hoop segments are reinforced with fiber to increase strength and reduce weight. The shell anchors to the carcass at intervals along its length to hold the hoop segments together, while providing the flexibility needed for deep water and other high pressure pipe applications.

A water delivery device includes a first conduit section and a second conduit section rotatably coupled to the first conduit section by a magnetic joint. The magnetic joint includes a plurality of magnets that cooperatively define a plurality of rotational positions between the first conduit 5 section and the second conduit section.

Modular conduit system

Modular conduit systems in which a plurality of tubular link components are interconnected to form a continuous conduit. Each adjacent pair of tubular link components has a ball-and-socket joint that enables the pair of tubular link components to be pivoted with respect to each other. The ball-and-socket joint consists of a ball attached to a first one of the pair of adjacent tubular link components and a socket attached to a second one of the pair of adjacent tubular link components, where the ball is positioned within the socket. The amount of friction between the ball and the socket is adjustable, so that the amount of force required to pivot the pair of tubular link components with respect to each other, which is dependent upon the amount of friction between the ball and the socket, is variable.

"FLEXIBLE-RIGID" AIR PIPE
20170328497 · 2017-11-16 ·

A pipe for forming air flow pipelines in a structure that includes a flexible tube made from composite material, the tube having, on the length of same, sections for which the wall of the tube is stiffened by means of structural elements made from a rigid composite material incorporated into the wall of the tube. The structural elements are configured and arranged at the surface of the tube in such a way as to form a lattice framework surrounding the wall of the tube. The pipe further includes electrical conductors, disposed longitudinally on the wall of the pipe, the electrical conductors having a straight path at the stiffened sections of the pipe and a meandering path at certain of the non-stiffened sections of the pipe, the meandering allowing the conductor to tolerate the possible twisting of the pipe when it is installed in the structure.

Method for linking segments for rehabilitation pipe and linking tool

A linking pin made of elastic plastic having linking pin halves is used to link segments in the longitudinal direction to assemble a rehabilitation pipe. The linking pin includes a tubular portion having on its outer periphery surface first and second protrusions separated by a distance of twice the thickness of the side plate of the segment and a rear protruding portion that enlarges in diameter due to elasticity. The linking pin is inserted into one segment and the other segment so that the side plates of both the segments come between the first and second protrusions. The linking pin is then enlarged in diameter due to elasticity to fit the side plates between the first and second protrusions and link both the segments in the longitudinal direction. The linking pin that is enlarged in diameter can be reduced in diameter to unlink both the segments.
