The apparatus includes a feature configured to accept an adhesive and an adhesive channel coupled to the feature configured to accept the adhesive. The apparatus includes a shear joint coupling the first node and the second node, the shear joint configured to receive the adhesive in an adhesive region formed by the first bonding surface and the second bonding surface, the adhesive for coupling the first bonding surface to the second bonding surface through the feature configured to accept the adhesive.
Composite to metal end fitting joint
A composite torque pipe to metal fitting joint including concentric inner and outer shells formed with respective smooth conical surfaces projecting distally and respectively tapered radially inwardly and radially outwardly to form an annulus expanding in thickness for receipt of a tapered connector ring complementally shaped at one end of a composite pipe and bonded along the interface. The present invention includes selecting the sleeves with the corresponding shells and, forming the torque pipe with the tapered ring and bonding the tapered ring in the annulus.
Pipe joint and piping structure
A pipe joint (1) comprising: a tubular main body (10) having a flow path inside, which is formed of a resin comprising a copolymer having one or more selected from a vinyl cyanide monomer unit and an acrylic monomer unit, a rubber component, and an aromatic vinyl monomer unit; and a socket section (20a) integrally formed with the main body (10), wherein: the main body (10) has a foamed resin layer (30) and a non-foamed resin layer (50) covering the foamed resin layer (30); the amount of the rubber component in the foamed resin layer (30) as determined by pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry is within a specific range; the amount of the rubber component in the non-foamed resin layer (50) is within a specific range; and a ratio (L.sub.a/L.sub.a) of length (L.sub.a) from a base end (21a) to an opening end (22a) of the socket section (20a) to a thickness (d.sub.a) of the socket section (20a) at the opening end is 2.0 or more and 10.0 or less.
FLUID CONDUIT CONNECTION OF AN HVAC SYSTEM
Disclosed is a fluid conduit connection of a vapor compression system having a cooling capacity of less than or equal to 60,000 Btu/hour comprising a first fluid conduit comprising a first aluminum alloy and having first fluid conduit outside hydraulic diameter of greater than or equal to 7 millimeters, a second fluid conduit comprising a second aluminum alloy, a second fluid conduit cross-sectional flow area, and having a second fluid conduit outside hydraulic diameter of less than or equal to 7 millimeters, an engagement between the first fluid conduit and the second fluid conduit, and a sealing material disposed within the engagement serving to mechanically bind and seal the fluid conduit connection, wherein a ratio of a cross sectional flow area of a throat of the fluid conduit connection divided by the second fluid conduit cross-sectional flow area is between 0.1 and 0.6.
MULTI PART PLASTIC ASSEMBLY THAT SIMPLIFIES THE APPLICATION OF PRIMER SOLVENTS AND PLASTIC BONDING CEMENTS AND/OR AGENTS TO PLASTIC AND/OR PVC PIPING
The present invention is a system and methods that facilitates the application of PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue to the inner surfaces of PVC unions and the outer surface of PVC pipes. The invention consists of a PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue reservoir, a method of pressurizing the reservoir, and forcing the PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue through a series of tubes and holes in the apparatus and into a foam applicator which transfers the PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue onto the inner surface or onto the outer surface of a PVC union or PVC pipe to a predetermined depth thus reducing waste of the PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue. The foam application housing contains a foam applicator specifically for applying PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue to either the inner surface of a PCV union or to the outer surface of a PVC pipe giving a uniform application of PVC primer (solvent) or PVC glue.
Composite drill pipe
A metal to composite tube joint including an elongated interior fitting constructed with an exterior barrel, reduced in exterior diameter to form a distally facing annular shoulder and then projecting still further distally to form an interior sleeve having a radially outwardly facing bonding surface. An elongated metal outer sleeve formed proximally with a collar constructed for receipt over the barrel and increased in interior diameter and projecting distally to form an exterior sleeve having a radially inwardly facing bonding surface cooperating with the first bonding surface to form an annulus receiving an extremity of a composite tube and a bond bonding the extremity of the tube to the bonding surfaces.
Materials and method for joining fiber reinforced pipeline
A method of joining fiberglass-reinforced composite pipes includes joining an inner tube of each pipe by fusion to form a fused bond, joining fiber reinforced polymer tubes of each pipe by depositing a silica glass particle epoxy directly on the fused bond and on bonded edges of the fiber reinforced polymer tubes as a composition to cover tube edges and the fused inner tube bond, and curing the composition.
Pipe section joining member, pipe joint and elongated pipe
A fiber reinforced polymer composite joining member for joining sections of pipe together to form an elongated pipe is disclosed. A pipe joint and elongated pipe includes at least two pipe sections having ends that are joined together with the joining member is also disclosed. The pipe joint and elongated pipe are formed by joining abutting ends of adjacent pipe sections with the joining member without the need for the adjacent pipe sections to have other connection means, such as standard bell and spigot end connections. Also provided is a method for joining pipe sections with the joining member to make an elongated pipe.
Apparatus and Method for Providing Access to Buried Pipeline
The pipe access device is comprised of a curved plate adapted to engage an underground pipe along an arc of the outer surface of the pipe, and a boss extending upwardly from the curved plate about an aperture in the curved plate. The boss is adapted to receive an extension pipe. The boss includes a flange adapted to engage ad end of the extension pipe. A gasket is combined with the flange to help seal the connection between the boss and the extension pipe. The pipe access device is for use in providing access to the buried pipe that requires minimal excavation and disruption of the soil.
PIPE CONNECTION JOINTS WITH FLEXIBLE FUNCTION
In one embodiment, pipe connection joints are constructed using two materials, a flexible material and a rigid material, which are fixedly attached to form a pipe connection joint that provides a few degrees of flex in order to allow for mis-alignment of pipe ends and to reduce stress at the joint. The flexible pipe connection joints are made in a variety of nominal angles, configurations, and sizes and each of the individual pipe connection joints can be flexed in any direction a few degrees from the nominal angle.
