METHOD FOR JOINING MEMBERS AND JOINED BODY

In a method for joining members, a first tube, and a second tube capable of being inserted into the first tube are prepared. The second tube is inserted in a tube hole of the first tube in an axial direction of the first tube. The second tube is radially expanded toward the first tube so that the first tube and the second tube are joined by press-fitting. The first tube is made of a material having a spring back amount larger than a spring back amount of the second tube.

A connector for positioning and reorienting a length of flexible tubing between a gas supply source and a gas use device to prevent binding and/or constriction. The connector includes a U shaped body section of rigid tubing with an inlet and an outlet. A flexible and/or resilient inlet connector is removably positioned on the rigid tubing inlet, and a flexible and/or resilient outlet connector is removably positioned on the rigid tubing outlet. The outlet connector is preferably (and typically) incorporated into the construction of the length of flexible tubing. The inlet connector end of the device, which may be permanently fixed to or removable from the device, is in turn removably attached to the gas supply source. Alternate embodiments include fixed and swiveling connector couplings.

Expanding well tubulars interconnected by pin-box assemblies optimized for expansion

A pin-box well tubular connector assembly having pin and box connector members (6, 5) with intermeshing external and internal screw thread profiles is optimized for expansion downhole in a wellbore by: A) configuring the box connector member (5) such that it has at least one thread (10) that does not engage a thread on the pin member (6); and optionally: B) configuring the pin and box connectors (6, 5) such that in axial direction a gap of at least 0.2 mm is present between the external and internal screw thread profiles; and/or C) inserting a swellable dope in the gap between the pin and box connector members (6, 5).

Method and coating device for applying a cladding layer during the production of a multilayer heavy-duty pipe

The invention relates to a method and a coating device for applying a cladding layer onto the inner side of a carrier layer during the production of a multilayer heavy-duty pipe, with a pressure-exerting unit having a force application unit. A stable application of the cladding layer is achieved by having the coating device comprise a rolling tool with the pressure-exerting unit and the force application unit, and by providing the pressure-exerting unit with at least one pressure roller having a diameter that is smaller than the inside diameter of the heavy-duty pipe to be produced, and with at least one support element acting diametrically counter thereto with a supporting force in the operating state.

Connector for connecting conduits for liquid or gaseous media

The invention relates to a connector (2) comprising a connector body (5), the connector body (5) having at least one sleeve-type outer casing section (13) which when viewed in cross-section surrounds a central longitudinal axis (8) of the connector (2). At least two passages (33) are formed in the outer casing section (13), the passages being provided for receiving an end section of a locking element (6). The locking element (6) is designed to secure the connector (2) relative to a mating connector (3), and a retaining element (38) for securing the locking element (6) is arranged in at least one of the passages (33). The retaining element (38) is designed as a formed sheet metal part and a separate retaining element (38) is provided for each passage (33).

HEAT EXCHANGER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

A heat exchanger includes a tube expansion portion formed by expanding a heat transfer tube so that an outer peripheral surface of the heat transfer tube is pressed against an inner peripheral surface of a hole provided in a side wall portion of a case. The tube expansion portion includes first and second bulge portions positioned respectively on the inside and the outside of the side wall portion so as to sandwich the side wall portion in an axial length direction of the heat transfer tube and configured such that respective outer peripheral surfaces thereof partially bulge outward in a radial direction of the heat transfer tube, an end portion tip end of the heat transfer tube is positioned apart from the second bulge portion, and the end portion tip end and a part in the vicinity thereof are expanded so as to be included in a part of the tube expansion portion. Thus, effects such as improving the precision with which the side wall portion of the case, the heat transfer tube, and a connecting tube are fitted to each other can be achieved, and as a result, the respective parts can be brazed easily and appropriately.

A connector assembly has a pipe, a sealing element, and a plug connector which includes a connector body. The connector body has an annular chamber which is located between a first exterior section and a second exterior section of the plug connector. A connecting section of the pipe is inserted into the annular chamber of the connector body from the pipe receiving side and is connected thereto. The connecting section of the pipe includes a fastening recess and a seal receptacle which are incorporated in a circumferential surface of the pipe, the seal receptacle being structurally separated from the fastening recess. The first or the second exterior section is deformed in the region of the seal receptacle in such a way that the sealing element is pressed between the first or second exterior section and the seal receptacle.

Turbine housing weld repair

A repaired turbine housing for use in an air cycle machine including a journal bearing bore having an inlet, an outlet, and an inner diameter of about 2.5800.001 inches (6.5530.003 centimeters).
