Pipe, pipe connection and pipeline system

A pipeline system is enclosed including unlined or plastic lined pipes. A mechanical metal to metal connection is employed that can provide a fluid tight seal. A pipe coupling may be employed to span the connection. Plastic lined pipes can have their plastic liners connected to form a fluid tight bladder. Electro fusion may be employed.

PIPE JOINT

A pipe joint includes: an inner ring having a bulge portion to be press-fitted into an end portion of the tube; a joint body having an inner circumference into which an end portion of the inner ring is to be press-fitted, and having an external thread portion on an outer circumference thereof; and a union nut having an internal thread portion to be tightened to the external thread portion, and configured to press the end portion of the tube when the internal thread portion is tightened to the external thread portion. The bulge portion has a tapered portion configured to generate a surface pressure between the tube and the tapered portion by pressing by the union nut. An outer circumferential surface of the tapered portion has a concave surface portion formed in a concave surface shape in an axial cross-sectional view.

Pipe manipulation apparatus and methods

A pipe manipulation apparatus having a base frame and a sliding end slidable towards and away from the base frame, each of the base frame and sliding end having at least one pipe support coupled with a press clamp pivotable between an open position and a closed position, wherein in the open position, a pipe is placeable on to the at least one pipe support and, in the closed position, the inner surfaces of the press clamp and the pipe support define a bore in which a lengthwise portion of the pipe is receivable. The pipe manipulation apparatus may be portable, tiltable, and/or rotatable to accommodate pipes of various locations and angles.

Strain induced face seal

The invention relates to tubing assemblies and methods for forming a fluidic connection to make the same. The assemblies include an outer tube having disposed therein a first inner tube affixed to the outer tube, a second inner tube and a support tube disposed in the second inner tube. The second inner tube is abutted against the first inner tube. A radial crimp is made in the outer tube over the second inner tube a distance x from where the tubes abut; the distance x being such that the end of the second inner tube seals against the end of the first inner tube. Various embodiments provide assemblies suitable for use with high fluidic pressure (e.g., greater than an about 70 MPa, approximately about 10,000 psi) and formation of chromatographic column assemblies comprising a capillary tube predisposed within the first or second inner tube prior to formation of the seal.

A fluid connector, including a connector body, including a first through-bore, a first surface, a second surface, and a flange, a retaining clip operatively arranged to engage the first surface, the retaining clip being radially expandable within the connector body, and a retaining plate arranged to be inserted into the first through-bore, including a distal surface arranged to engage the second surface, a proximal surface, and a second through-bore, wherein the flange is operatively arranged to be crimped radially inward around the retaining plate.

Press fitting for a threaded connection and method for attaching a fitting to a threaded connection

A fitting for attaching to a threaded connection of a pipe, in particular a water pipe, includes a basic body, a threaded portion, and a sealing body arranged on the threaded portion. The basic body has a pressing surface on the side situated opposite to the threaded portion. Also disclosed is a method for attaching a fitting to a threaded connection of a pipe.

Fluid pipe for a heating and air conditioning unit

A fluid pipe for a heating and air conditioning unit, exhibiting a pipe coupling section produced at least predominantly from plastic in the area of a mouth of the pipe, wherein a bead that is constructed from plastic and runs around the circumference of the pipe in the pipe coupling section and protrudes outward and wherein a circumferential ring that also runs around the circumference of the pipe and is produced from metal or a metal alloy is attached to the bead.
