A tubular connection includes a tubular joint including a pin with a first pin thread having a first pitch and a second pin thread having a second pitch, and also includes a connector that includes a box with a first box thread having the first pitch and a second box thread having the second pitch. The connection also includes an elastomeric seal ring comprised of a material that swells in the presence of hydrocarbons. Upon make-up of the connection, the first pin thread engages with the first box thread, the second pin thread engages with the second box thread, and the elastomeric seal ring is disposed around the tubular joint between the first pin thread and the second pin thread and forms a metal-to-elastomer seal between the tubular joint and the connector.

COMPOSITE TRANSITION FITTING

A pipe fitting having a first body and a second body that together at least partially define a fluid flow passage. The first body defines a first portion of the fluid flow passage that extends from a first end of the fluid flow passage to a first internal opening. The second body defines a second portion of the fluid flow passage that extends from a second internal opening to a second end of the fluid flow passage. The first body has a first interface surface that surrounds the first internal opening, the first interface surface having a plurality of anti-rotation grooves. The second body has a second interface surface that surrounds the second internal opening and engages with the first interface surface. The first internal opening is in fluid communication with the second internal opening. The second interface surface has a plurality of anti-rotation fingers that are each received by and engage with a corresponding one of the anti-rotation grooves. Rotation of the second body relative to the first body is resisted by the engagement of the anti-rotation fingers with the anti-rotation grooves.

A brass fitting is in-molded in a plastic pipe fitting, which is coupled to a water supply line in a conventional matter. The brass insert receives a tapered seal with sealing surfaces that seat against the brass insert and a sprinkler head to form a sealed connection. The seal includes a tapered passageway for compression when tightening, as well as an external taper to allow the seal to conform to the socket formed by the plastic pipe fitting and brass insert. Also, a manufacturing method includes in-molding a brass insert within a plastic fitting using an O-ring which interfaces between the brass insert and surrounding molded fitting to seal the brass insert to the fitting. In one embodiment, the seal is used in a polymeric fitting without a brass insert.

Coupling Assembly and Protective Ring Therefor

A coupling assembly includes a coupling, a protective ring and two tubulars, the coupling of generally cylindrical shape with a channel therethrough, the coupling having at least one internal thread and two coupling ends and a pin end of at least one of the two tubulars having an external thread for threaded mating therewith so that the coupling assembly provides a connection between the two tubulars, the protective ring including a ring body for positioning adjacent an interior wall of the coupling between the two ends thereof, the ring body being generally cylindrical and having a ring channel therethrough, the protective ring includes one of a tongue and groove and at least one of the ends of at least one of the two tubulars having the other of a tongue and groove.

Freon refilling apparatus for vehicles

The present Freon refilling apparatus for vehicles comprises a tube fitting and a refilling duct. The tube fitting is connected to the refilling duct. The lower end of the tube fitting has a connection port to connect with gas cylinders. A pushrod is movably inserted into the tube fitting in its axial direction. Between the tube fitting and the upper end of the pushrod, there is an operating mechanism which can push the pushrod down to the lower end of the tube fitting. When the pushrod moves downwards, its lower end can make the gas cylinder connected to the tube fitting. The present Freon refilling apparatus for vehicles is applicable to different types of gas cylinders storing Freon. This provides a more convenient way to refill Freon for automobile air conditioners, with a lower cost.
