Compression couplings
A compression coupling includes a sealing joint for sealingly coupling a pipe to the compression coupling and a restraining joint separate from the sealing joint for restraining the pipe to the compression coupling.
Fitting subassembly with retained ferrule
A fitting subassembly includes a threaded fitting nut, a ferrule, and a retaining member. The fitting nut includes a radial drive surface and an interior wall defining a socket, with the ferrule at least partially disposed in the socket. The retaining member is separate from and retained in a recess in the fitting nut. The retaining member retains the ferrule with the fitting nut when the retaining member is in a first position prior to the fitting nut being assembled with the fitting body. The retaining member is radially movable from the first position to a second position within the fitting nut to release the ferrule from the fitting nut.
Conduit gripping device having retaining structure for conduit fitting
A fitting subassembly includes a threaded fitting nut that can be joined with a threaded fitting body to form a fitting assembly. The fitting nut includes a radial drive surface and an interior wall defining a socket. A back ferrule is disposed entirely in the socket and includes a driven surface adjacent to the drive surface, and a front ferrule is at least partially disposed in the socket. A retaining member retains the front and back ferrules with the fitting nut as a subassembly prior to the fitting nut being assembled with a threaded fitting body. The retaining member applies a retaining force that is limited to permit removal of the front ferrule and the back ferrule from the fitting nut by exposure to a force applying environment.
SEAL ASSEMBLY
A seal assembly has a connector body with a first section and a second section, movable relative to one another. The first section and the second section each has an open end configured for receiving the free end of a pipe. The open end of the first and second sections are each configured for sealing engagement with the free end of a respective pipe. The seal assembly is movable between a first condition, in which the second section assumes a retracted position relative to the first section, and a second condition in which the second section assumes an extended position relative to the first section. A seal member is provided for creating a seal between the first section and the second sections in said first and second conditions. First and second adaptors are provided, each for association with a respective one of said first and second sections of the connector body and configured for securing at the free end of a respective pipe. First and second mechanical interlock arrangements are provided, each for association with a respective one of said first and second adaptors, and each configured for driving the respective adaptor in the direction of the connector body.
Clawed Securing Means
A clawed securing means, in particular a pipe coupling, having a band with two halves, which each have a clamping jaw at the ends thereof, the opposing clamping jaws of the two halves being connected to each other in each case by at least one clamping element. The clamping jaws each have at least one lug with a fixed end and a free end. The free end is bent in such a manner that the free end rests on the fixed end of the respective lug and forms a double layer of material. At least one opening is formed in the region of the double layer of material to feed through the at least one clamping element.
Pull-up by torque fitting with female threaded nut and integral dynamic wedge
A fitting is provided that may optionally be pulled-up to its final assembled condition by torque rather than by turns. In one embodiment, at least one fitting component includes a structure that facilitates pull-up by torque. The structure may take a wide variety of different forms.
Conduit gripping device having retaining structure for conduit fitting
The disclosure presents exemplary embodiments of a cartridge nut concept for conduit fittings. The cartridge nut concept may include the feature of loosely retaining one or more conduit gripping devices with a fitting component such as a male or female threaded nut. The cartridge nut concept may be realized using one or more geometry or shape features or characteristics of one or more conduit gripping devices. Still further, the cartridge nut concept may be realized in combination with a ferrule cartridge concept.
