A connection assembly for a well comprises first and second tubular, one of which is adapted to connect to the well, the first tubular having a bore adapted to receive the second tubular. The first and second tubulars lock together, and have first and second seals compressed between an outer surface of the second tubular and an inner surface of the first tubular to create a fluid chamber. The second seal is axially and radially spaced from the first seal. A hydraulic pressure system is adapted to drive hydraulic fluid into the fluid chamber to urge the second tubular out of the first tubular when the first and second seals are compressed between the first and second tubulars. A method of making connections is also disclosed.

A connector for use in vacuum system is configured to fluidly connect a first opening formed in a first vacuum chamber to a second opening formed in a second vacuum chamber, the first opening of the first vacuum chamber being provided within the second vacuum chamber. The connector comprises a tube and a biasing O-ring. The tube has an outer wall to define a fluid flow path between first and second ends of the tube. Towards the first end, a sealing portion of the outer wall of the tube is provided. Towards the second end, an O-ring retaining point is provided along the tube spaced apart from the second end of the tube. The biasing O-ring is provided around and tensioned by the outer wall of the tube. The biasing O-ring is moveable along the axial direction between the O-ring retaining point and a sealing position where it seals the connector.

A connector for use in vacuum system is configured to fluidly connect a first opening formed in a first vacuum chamber to a second opening formed in a second vacuum chamber, the first opening of the first vacuum chamber being provided within the second vacuum chamber. The connector comprises a tube and a biasing O-ring. The tube has an outer wall to define a fluid flow path between first and second ends of the tube. Boom air seal

The invention provides an articulated joint in a pneumatic conveying system of a boom of an agricultural dry product applicator. The joint allows adjacent product-conveying tubes and respective joint components to articulate with respect to each other while maintaining a seal for pneumatically conveying product. Joint components may be separated from each other when the boom is folded while articulating with respect to each other without disengaging or creating potential leaks at segment junctures while the boom is extended. The articulated joint includes a rigid socket having a first socket section and a second socket section providing support to a compressible seal having a first seal section and a second seal section. The first seal section is inserted into the second socket section to create an airtight seal in between the first seal section and the second socket section even when boom tube segments flex during use.

RESTRAINED GASKET FOR PLASTIC PIPES

A gasket for preventing the separation of a pipe joint formed between plastic pipes such as pipes manufactured from PVC. The invention provides an internally restrained pipe joint including a bell with a substantially V-shaped annular groove. The annular groove includes a front radial wall and a rear radial wall and a gasket seated in the annular groove. The gasket includes an inner radial face, an opening defined by the inner radial face and an outer radial face with a front radial section located adjacent to the front radial wall of the annular groove and a rear radial section located adjacent to the rear radial wall of the annular groove. A plurality of toothed, rigid restraining segments is at least partially embedded in the gasket.

A method is provided for fabricating a thin-film semiconductor substrate by forming a porous semiconductor layer conformally on a reusable semiconductor template and then forming a thin-film semiconductor substrate conformally on the porous semiconductor layer. An inner trench having a depth less than the thickness of the thin-film semiconductor substrate is formed on the thin-film semiconductor substrate. An outer trench providing access to the porous semiconductor layer is formed on the thin-film semiconductor substrate and is positioned between the inner trench and the edge of the thin-film semiconductor substrate. The thin-film semiconductor substrate is then released from the reusable semiconductor template.

The clamshell is secured around the end of the wye fitting and the another fluid conduit part over the interface between the first and second engagement features.

An apparatus for connecting two pipes in fluid communication includes a connector body having opposing open ends, with each open end configured for receiving a free end of a pipe, and a mechanical interlock arrangement for preventing or limiting axial movement of the connector body relative to a free end of a pipe when the free end of the pipe is received in an open end of the connector body. A mechanical seal arrangement provides a metal-to-metal seal between a pipe inserted into one of the open ends and the connector body.
